Congratulations!! Finally you made one step closer to Hong Kong style- the owner’s attitude. That is very interesting you classified negative reviews as “misleading”, trying to refute a disappointing customer but not improve it.
Regarding the pancake - it is fine you tried to explain it was due to “condensation” but not “storage issue” .Honestly I don’t really care where the moisture from. But the question is - should it be like that? I have never had any pancakes that got moisture on it. Maybe a good idea for you to go to any desert house to learn humbly and ask for the secret of “not getting moisture on pancakes”. I am sure they will be nice to you.
You can also tell I am definitely not the first review criticising on your pricing. I agree pricing strategy could be different among restaurants - but your quality simply could not align with the pricing. And this is the reason why I was writing the review. *
It is nothing like Hong Kong except for its aggressive pricing and low quality.
We ordered add-ons for taro balls which costs $3 but turns out that there were just 5 pieces of it- 60c for each🤯.
And the durian pancake costs about $15 bucks but just for ONE piece. Usually it comes in two pieces in most of the other dessert shops. As shown in the photo, the outer layer of the pancake was way too moist - apparently the storing condition is not ideal.
Also, we had the almond soup. It tasted so artificial, like it’s made from the flavoured almond powder only.
Will never go...
Read moreI have eaten at this place a few times before with my friends and i have always ordered the same thing (tofu pudding with red bean and taro balls) which is usually okay, however today i just had a very bad experience. I ordered my food today at approximately 5pm and a lady had given me a buzzer for the food. No other customers were in store nor did anyone else order or even come in after me, yet i was already waiting 30 minutes and no food had come out. At this point I was getting frustrated, so I walk to the front and ask for a refund. It was only then that a different lady had come out and told me that they had forgotten my order. So it was completely normal for them to see two customers (my sister and I) in a completely empty store at a table with no food and a buzzer for more than thirty minutes…? One of the owners or someone that knows the owners were sitting right next to the counter and was right behind my table and didn’t realise that our order was completely forgotten? After we got our food, one of the ladies gave us extra taro balls as an apology, but honestly the wait for the food was not worth...
Read moreI can’t believe I only just discovered this place – I wish I had found it sooner so I could have visited more often! It’s a true traditional Hong Kong dessert shop, serving not only classic sweets but also savoury favourites like stew soup, braised pork, and curry fish balls.
I especially loved the tong sui red bean soup with mochi balls, the silky tofu pudding, and the fragrant osmanthus syrup. There are still so many desserts I can’t wait to try, like the mung bean and almond pudding.
The décor and music create such an authentic Hong Kong vibe, bringing back memories of dining there. A wonderful experience overall – I’ll...
