My mother and I were looking for a place to eat for dinner. My mother saw the menu had lamb shanks, her favourite. So we decided to eat there. We sat down at a bar leaner outside which was very wonky, we tried to fix it with napkins but it didn’t help. I ordered a 200g rump steak, mushroom sauce, with chips and salad. The steak was cold and they forgot to serve my salad on the plate, so I had to ask for it. The Waiter then returned with a bowl of old tomatoes and sad stale leaves with olive oil on top (disgusting). My mushroom sauce was just gravy with a few half mushrooms in a plastic pot - which I assume just came out the microwave as it was also cold.
As for my mother’s meal- Lamb shanks with a red wine and rosemary sauce is her favourite so when it came out sad, watery, boiled, flavourless, with no red wine taste, she was immensely disappointed. The vegetables must as been boiled for as long as the lamb shanks themselves, they were mushy, tasteless, extremely watery - like something you’d serve at a nursing home. The shank itself was soft tasteless, also watery, and unappealing to cut and look at. The red wine sauce had never seen any red wine. It was stock mixed with water. Disappointing.
My mother went returned the meal and expressed her disappointment as which the wait staff replied with “this is how we always cook it”. This is extremely disappointing. My mother then requested a new meal, a 200g rump steak (same meal as me). However, when the food came out it looked completely different to my plate. The steak shape was different. There were more chips on her plate, although they were extremely undercooked. Her salad was completely different to mine as it was fresh and didn’t have any tomato on it. The steak was ordered as medium rare, but I was a bad cut which made it chewy, fatty, and unappetising. We just wanted to get out there quickly as we could, as we were very upset to have wasted our money and evening.

Read moreI provided this feedback to the establishment via messenger and they could not be bothered even acknowledging or apologising so thought it best to warn everyone else about how bad it was. A group (10) of us came to eat for dinner. Firstly, we understand the till wasn't working overly well which happens and we understand that. Staff were writing down the order and then inputting it into the till before payment. It was completely onerous. Staff had to keep asking over and over again what we wanted. The whole process took a ridiculous amount of time. One in our party went up to the bar and waited more than 10 minutes to be served for a beer with no one else waiting at the bar. The meals took an eternity to arrive. Some 35 minutes and some more than an hour. We actually sent food back (a bowl of sweet potato chips) because they were so disgusting and covered in oil. None of the food was seasoned with salt, which is completely basic. I personally ate 2 mouthfuls of my food. I had the snitzel and it is by far the worst meal I have ever ordered. Ever. The crumb was still completely dripping in oil. The last of our party to order was left waiting well over an hour for their food. The worst part, one of the children's meals came out as the last and THEN a garlic bread. We spent over $300 and would have had a far superior meal next door at hungry jacks. DONT WASTE...
Read moreMy family and I went here for dinner just after arriving in Surfers for a family holiday, there were 7 of us and I had made an online reservation. When we ordered, it was to our surprise they advised us we were receiving 50% off our meal as we were the first table and had ordered drinks. I made the payment and went back to our table to tell my family the good news. We were super excited about this. But around 20 mins later while waiting for our meals, the waitress came to our table and said she had made a mistake, as we did not make our booking on the right website to receive the 50% discount. So it turns out, when they said about the first table (they were referring to a website) not what we thought that we were the first table to order that night. I had to show the waitress my email to confirm my booking online, however she said it was the wrong website and we had to pay the other 50% of our meal. So after the excitement, I then had to go back up to register to pay for our other 50%. We went from really excited to feeling very let down.
