I don't usually do this but I recently visited royal copenhagen in surfers paradise. My mum has told me this place has been here for like three centuries or something so my hopes were high. The ice cream was okay, definitely a more authentic and rich ice cream than their competitors. I've heard they make their ice cream in house and fresh so that's probably why. Their selection is okay too.
The SERVICE though my lord. AMAZING. I can't speak to all the workers but I was served by this lovely Japanese girl. I didn't catch her name but she was so sweet and helpful. And her scoop was the perfect size! I got a cone, and i know sometimes ice cream can be hard to scoop a lot into a cone since the workers stress that it'll melt and I think i read someone leave a review complaining about that but they clearly have 0 critical thinking skills at all. The girl's scooping was sublime. She was fast, talked to me throughout with a smile, and she was attentive when i asked for extra toppings even though i said no when she asked! And I was able to enjoy my cone ice cream even more.
You can just tell that this establishment has a good work family going. If this girl is anything to go by, hell, I wanna work there.
Literally the highlight of my day. Cheers to her!
Thanks...
Read moreWell what a surprise this ice-cream endeavour ended up being!
Now I have had my fair share of ice-creams and while the rich and thick aspects of Royal's ice-cream do not go unnoticed, dare i say it was the staff that truly made this experience positively exemplary. My son David got two scoops of the midnight cookie- but do NOT let the name DECEIVE you, this flavour only endeavoured to BRIGHTEN our day. I myself acquired the self-entitled royal Copenhagen flavour after just the most illustrious confabulation with the staff member serving me. She was asian and had dark hair with a strawberry colour posteriorly! My only regret from my ice-cream stemmed escapade was that I did not catch this girl's name! Not only were her scoops divinity incarnate, she was Herculean in her strength and Hermes for speed, but she did everything with a supple and dignified smile. Now... if she is anything to go by, it seems surfer's paradise has itself a store filled with happy, kind, open, caring, and intelligent staff members.
Thank you Copenhagen team! Have...
Read moreWhen I was a kid my father and I would take evening walks up the beach and on Friday nights he would buy us an icecream each from Royal Copenhagen for the walk back home. The smell of the surf as it washed over my feet the creamy goodness of the ice-cream and the sweet crunch of the cone became a treasured memory for me. Now, thirty years later I can do the same thing with my daughter. It's exactly the same, the smell of the waffle cones being made, the almost impossible decision of a flavour and the free whipped cream and sprinkles! Who gives anything for free these days!? Thank you Royal Copenhagen, for the treasured memories, and for my daughter's first ever ice-cream headache 😂 we'll be...
