A Vegan Thai Delight: Siam Purity in Broadbeach
Nestled in the bustling Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, Siam Purity offers a refreshing twist on traditional Thai cuisine with its fully vegan menu. My best friend and I recently had the pleasure of dining at this hidden gem, and it was truly an extraordinary culinary experience.
Upon entering, we were immediately struck by the restaurant's charming ambiance. The space is adorned with lush plants and offers a lovely view, creating a serene atmosphere that transports you away from the busy shopping center.
The menu is extensive, featuring a wide array of vegan interpretations of classic Thai dishes. We started with the crispy spring rolls and curry puffs, both housemade and bursting with flavor. The attention to detail in these appetizers set the tone for what was to come.
For our main courses, we opted for the green curry and pad thai. The green curry was a harmonious blend of creamy coconut milk, aromatic herbs, and perfectly cooked vegetables. The pad thai, a staple of Thai cuisine, was expertly prepared with just the right balance of sweet, sour, and savory notes.
What truly sets Siam Purity apart is their innovative use of mock meats. The "chicken" satay skewers were remarkably authentic in texture and taste, complemented beautifully by a rich peanut sauce. Even non-vegan diners would be impressed by the quality and flavor of these plant-based alternatives.
One of the most delightful surprises of our evening was the unique dining experience provided by the restaurant's robotic waiter. This charming "cat robot" delivered some of our dishes, adding a fun and futuristic element to our meal. For dessert, we couldn't resist trying the sticky rice with mango, a traditional Thai sweet that was executed flawlessly. The contrast between the warm, coconut-infused rice and the cool, juicy mango was simply divine.
The staff at Siam Purity were exceptionally friendly and attentive, enhancing our overall experience with their warm hospitality and helpful recommendations. In conclusion, Siam Purity is a must-visit for vegans, vegetarians, and anyone looking to explore innovative Thai cuisine. With its delicious food, charming atmosphere, and unique robotic service, it offers a dining experience that is both comforting and exciting. Whether you're a local or just visiting the Gold Coast, Siam Purity is definitely worth adding to your...
Read moreI am deeply saddened to share that our experience at this restaurant was marred by explicit racial bias, something which should have no place in our society. Upon our arrival, it quickly became apparent that the restaurant was operating a discriminatory policy, something as simple as the allocation of menus was based on the color of one’s skin.
This practice resulted in a highly uncomfortable situation for us and other patrons who did not identify as white. While other customers were provided with menus and clear instructions on how to order, we were left in confusion and embarrassment, without any assistance or guidance from the staff.
Adding to the frustration was the realization that the establishment exclusively offered pick-up options. Such a practice, while seemingly innocuous, further exacerbated the situation. The absence of a dine-in option left us feeling isolated and distinctly unwelcome, an experience no customer should have to endure.
I write this review in the hope that no one else has to go through such a distressing experience. Unfortunately, based on my visit, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone who doesn’t identify as white, due to the outright racial bias we experienced. Dining out should be an enjoyable experience for all, regardless of race or ethnicity, and it’s disheartening to see such explicit discrimination in this day and age. I sincerely hope that the restaurant will take steps to address...
Read moreThe best vegan/vegetarian place I have ever been. I am not a vegan/vegetarian, but in the past had tried a few places and most of them are horrible, which I don’t understand. If the sauce is nice, it shouldnt matter if you put meat or veggies in it. This is the place that does that. All the sauce are amazing. We had beef massaman curry and chicken pad thai and papaya salad. Papaya salad wasnt the best i’ve had (dressing is kinda lack of zing) but the massaman curry and pad thai were amazing. Fake beef looked a bit weird (kinda hairy) but it tasted great. Not like meat, but nice. The fake chicken in pad thai was just like real chicken. So impressed and the owner was so friendly and chatted with us. The only other criticism is that the dishes came quite long after another. We ended up finished with one dish, then another dish came, and same thing, finished it, then the next dish came. By that time we were full already. The place itself has nice outdoor deck with river view. But yeah, if we were in a hurry, we would have been annoyed bcos all the food took long to come out. Also thai milk tea wasnt nice, sweet but very weak tea, which is disappointing bcos they are Thai place. The Iced coffee with soymilk and ice cream was great. I would recommend...
