Simple Coffee House — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Since moving to Australia, I have become a bit of a big fan of their coffee, and I’ve probably drank at least two cups a day for the last year ( I’m hooked lol).

Yet it was only when I left Simple coffee house that I felt compelled to write a review on the outstanding customer service I received.

As someone who works in hospitality, I can appreciate how busy and sometimes stressful the role can be. So when I see amazing customer service and people going above and beyond, I have to call it out and say well done.

The owners are so warm, friendly and welcoming. And the coffee and bliss balls are ‘Simply’ the best☺️

When I made my order initially, the cashier misunderstood my order and accidentally charged me for a large coffee. Even though there’s only a few cents in the difference, the owners insisted on giving me the change and making me the coffee I ordered with a big smile on their face.

Working in hospitality, it’s more often than not that workers find these instances an inconvenience to them but not here. With warm bubbly, friendly smiles they served me exactly what I wanted.

The coffee and bliss balls were so so good that I had to go back again today.

I feel bad even giving this place a one star rating but given their location next to the tafe I figure they deserve it. If you're a tafe student I recommend going down the road to good bean as they provide kind service and a cute chocolate freckle on every coffee. This store just refused me sugar when I had been running late to tafe and I'd forgotten to pick up the sugar. Instead of any friendly customer service to potential customers they said "excuse me mate, doesn't the shop where you bought the coffee have sugar?" and I said "really? Well I can go back there if I have to" and the Batista replied "that might be best mate". I will never return here, after contemplating buying coffee here for a few weeks and simply not doing so because of the ridiculous lines and small sized cups, I have now decided to never come here again simply for their horrid...

My partner and I visit regularly, we’re always met with polite greetings and great coffee. By our fourth visit they new us by name and our coffee orders. It’s refreshing to see a business owner with so much passion for his brand and service, it almost acts as inspiration to put 100% into your day. Won’t stop coming here and will always recommend to friends.

Hot tips - Soy milk- they use Bonsoy for any other enthusiasts! Queue- don’t be turned away by the line as it generally moves really fast, if you’re in a hurry for work I usually call ten minutes in advance and it’s ready to go when I arrive.
