Best to reserve a table as this place gets busy. Facilities are good and due to the electric cooktop, it doesn't get smoky or greasy and the food tastes top notch. We had the Kagoshima chateaubriand, the yakinuku platter, bbq vegetables, uniki sushi, and cold house sake. My favourites (in this order) were: Australian wagyu oyster blade, Kagoshima chateaubriand and the Australian wagyu harami (skirt steak). The wagyu oyster is unbelievable, it has so much flavour and best enjoyed rare. For the chateaubriand, the flavour explodes in your mouth and it was probably best medium. The harami had a little marinade to it which was very nice and I'd highly recommend this cut by as well. The uniki sushi was unbelievably fresh and was the best of is kind of sushi we have ever had. Was well with the drive. Highly recommended and looking forward to visiting again next month

While the wagyu beef is of good quality, it’s not worth the price and the portion size you pay for. They never mention about the wagyu grammage on the menu and the portion gets smaller every time. They used to be a lil bit more generous many years ago. The service is a hit and miss, mostly you’ll get a smile that’s all. They don’t live up to the traditional Japanese custom, don’t expect super friendly and attentive service. The only attentive part about them is to get rid of empty plates straight away off your table. The place is too small to enjoy a typical dining atmosphere, it can be very loud at times. Not to mention the smoke and fumes from the bbq grill which will stick to your clothes and hair. Just a piece of advice: don’t do “dress to impress” by taking your date to this place.

Went down to the coast for a few days and this was one of the places I had to go to! We did a last minute pick up for a takeaway wagyu platter and they were very accomodating to our last minute request! We were very grateful and super impressed at how quick they were. The meat quality is insane! We got the $120 mb 8-9+ platter and everything was delicious. It was perfect with just salt and pepper but the dipping sauce they provided us paired well with it too. We went to a fine dining japanese restaurant a day later and spent the same amount but per person and it was nowhere near as good as this! We had these as leftovers as the platter easily caters to 4 people but it was just me and my partner. I am super keen to get the A5 wagyu platter next time I’m in the GC!

My partner and I come to this place a lot and it has always been great; however, they just have recently hired a lot of new staff.

We ordered the set menu for 4 and received a portion for 2 people. Usually you receive 6 dumplings however we received 5 and the mushroom and onion were missing from the set menu.

Our main plate of meat did not arrive until we had to ask where it was. The waiter replied we got everything when we received a plate of just the first half. As we have come quite often we know what exactly it comes with.

We invited some family to introduce them to the place and it was a bit embarrassing.

We were asked if we had seen the dessert menu while halfway through our main and missing the second portion of our main.

Then we were asked again if we had had a chance to look at the dessert menu once again while we ordered extra plates after the set menu.

Then once more when receiving those plates.

The waiter just really didn’t know what she was doing which I understand she was new. Just a little embarrassing inviting people and hyping them up of how high the expectations were.

The portion was a lot smaller than usual even for 2 people and the set was not completed fully.

Okay were a table of 4. All the portions were in odd numbers so it was hard to share thing equally between each other. There was also only 3 pieces of chicken between 4 so one person missed out.

I did really enjoy this place and the meats are amazing but I don’t think I would come back after such poor service.

The service that was given prior justified the price alongside the quality...

I've been going to this restaurant for many years but not for quite a few years and decided to take a drive to dine again. Very disappointed. Disappointed mostly because of the over priced food and the atmosphere. Though the food was good (not great) it is way overpriced. You can do far far better elsewhere. The atmosphere is a joke. There used to be plants on the ceiling twisting in and out of timber rafters, now the ceiling looks like core flute plastic with white duct tape on the joints and some dodgy electrical work. There are electrical chords under your feet for the BBQ. It gets very loud and smoky at times. The rear entrance from the car park passes skip bins and the toilets. For the prices the owner could certainly upgrade with some of his prophets. We are certainly not going back. For beer drinkers you should know the beer is...
