What a disappointment for us ,can't help the weather, but we were not advised upon booking that construction was going on outside our bedroom window and the water machinery noise was constant , and the excavators from 6.30 am never would have booked there had we been advised they tried to say everyone was advised why would we book next to a building site ??? we also told Booking agent for RAA accommodation on our many calls, we need a downstairs unit as I had a gopher as well, there were steps to carry it up,just as well it was a foldable travel one as my 81 year old husband would not have been able too. When we realise this was going to be going all day everyday and we were confined to apartment We decided would not stay,it took all day in between agents ignoring our first complaint at 9 am they were tending us between meetings really made it difficult then we had to negotiate and my husband had to walk into surfers to their office and pursue our funds, to after 3 pm to get some money back and find new accommodation,we were very out of pocket after this and a day lost from our 6 day holiday had saved for on our aged pension! We had to catch 2 buses to Tweed where we had managed to get better overpriced accommodation for the rest of the trip. I must say it was lovely and quite . Goodbye Surfer's Paradise we won't be back again it's changed and not for the better.

The person who designed the urban planning of Gold Coast was genius. So about Chevron Island we only moved here a month ago and can understand why people move to Surfers Paradise. On the Nerang River, where you can fish, JetSki, rowboat, stand-up paddle kayaking or cruise. It’s amazing. And filled with life, in the short time I’ve seen fish by the bridge pylons And at least a dozen types of birds And at might great views of the city. Also Austin Gillcrest Park is a great place to take your dog to, or have a picnic or go fishing with a friend. See pictures below

It was a great experience. Crossing over to Chevron Island. Cooling and relaxing walking over to get our breakfast at Cafe.alfons. It makes your day start-off perfectly for the day. Having a nice cup of coffee and the local breakfast. It was just Fantastic! *We will definitely come again. For your info, Gold Coast does not have much of such breakfast place. There are a few shops to complete the walk of this island before crossing back to the city. To review again the next time...
