Single worst restaurant experience we have ever had.
Arrived at our 6:30 reservation on time and were promptly ushered through to a freezing cold room at the back. After asking to have the heat pump turned on we were ignored and left to sit in freezing cold for half an hour before someone came to take our order. Here is a tip, if your customers are putting their rain coats back on whilst waiting for their food then you should probably do something about it.
Finally our food arrived at 8:20pm almost two hours after we have arrived. No updates were provided on the progress of our food during this time. It wasn't even busy!
You can then imagine our frustration when the food turned out to be completely flavourless bland rubbish. Both our curries tasted like water and were cold within minutes of sitting on our table. The momos were decent enough but again were cold almost instantly. None of this food is exactly cheap either..
Keep away. Go to one of the many other decent restaurants in Hobart and let this place die and be replaced by something that is worth...
Read moreNepalese food was on the agenda this time and I hadn't been in Battery Point for a long time so going to Kathmandu Cuisine ticked both boxes. Finding parking around the area was a small challenge but that's the norm for the area.
There's a very comfortable atmosphere within and the waitress was welcoming and possessed a very friendly service. For a small building it didn't feel cramped inside.
I started off with vegetable Singada dish which was delicious and made me eager for the main. I went for the Dal Bhat Masu with chicken and loved the layout of the food and different flavours each portion gave me. I decided to compliment all of this with a drink of Sherpa beer. Although initially I thought that it may not be quite enough I found out that the meal was quite filling. It all cost around $45 which was very good value as the quality was very good.
If you're in the mood for some Nepalese cuisine I would definitely recommend...

The jhol momo was particularly impressive, featuring exquisite dumplings accompanied by a flavorful broth that was nothing short of divine. The chicken curry, served with impeccably cooked rice, was rich, aromatic, and thoroughly satisfying. To conclude our meal, the mango kulfi ice cream proved to be the ideal dessert—creamy, refreshing, and bursting with authentic flavor.
The inviting ambiance and attentive service further enhanced our experience. For anyone in North Hobart, this establishment is an essential destination for genuine Nepalese cuisine. It comes highly...
