Enjoy having dinner here and the staff are great, Donna is excellent. Went and tried the Lobster special for New Years Eve and wife got crook. The chef needs to go back to chef school to learn how to cook lobster, it is not very nice only being half cooked its no good for your chef to tell your patrons that is how it is supposed to be cooked. We are not beginners at eating seafood and the chef has a bad attitude and if he cant accept his inability to cook food correctly maybe he should look for another vocation. I really can't believe how a chef can ruin good quality food into what he sends out to your patrons, what we pay for our meals is way more expensive than what is should be. Having spoken to some other local business people in the local area they have told me this is the reason why they don't frequent any of the local clubs. Sub standard food that is way over the top for price, the steaks are ordinary at best and not the quality you tell us. The big problem is people are excepting what they are given becausing complaining does nothing but annoy the staff. We are at the same stage of cooking at home then maybe go to the club for a drink and that's about it. You need to get your act together if you want people that enjoy good food to return to your dining rooms, get a new Head Chef that actually cares about what he is serving up to your diners. Back to try something different so I had the Pad Thai and it was so full of raw garlic and spices it was disgusting, spices that I'maren't cooked out destroyed the dish then the wife had Lasagne and it was drowned in a very bitter flavourless pasta that shouldn't even be on the plate. You take great ingredients and give them to a third grade cook whom thinks he is a chef and destroys it. The Jets need to find a chef that can cook not a premadona that has no idea. The steaks I haven't had for well over 12 months is because they use budget cuts of meat and charge the earth, worst steaks in Ipswich. People who visit this club don't keep paying good money for poor...
Read moreHad a very disappointing morning at Jets Ipswich. Have a group of six ladies where we have a monthly morning tea/lunch at different Ipswich establishments. I personally called into Jets and booked a table for 8.12.22 for 10am with the receptionist at front reception, stated we would be there fr 10am till 12/12.30pm in new dining area (I had recently been here) We arrived and moved into premise at 10am only to find electricians on site not only at reception desk but also in new dining area where I had booked a table, receptionist welcomed us in but was busy with the electricians (renovations apparently) we said we had a booking and she apologised that she was busy. We were left to wonder around on our own as we couldn’t find any staff to assists us however there was a large table where staff were in a meeting. An older staff member finally walked up to us we explained our situation he left us standing in middle of floor near kitchen to see what he could find out, he was gone for some time we looked around as was wondering where he went, on his return he said he couldn’t get into system so had to go to his office upstairs. What we found out - our reservation sign was on table staff were having meeting at clearly said new area even though it wasn’t. Whilst this gentleman had been away we had seated ourselves as we were tired of standing. We were told we could stay there till 12 as this table was booked, we said we could move but we were reassured would b ok to stay put (staff were still in meeting at table with our reservation sign on it). What we found even though coffee shop is open fr 10am it is not staffed one has to go to cashier to get staff to come down to take orders. I could write so much more that went wrong but I won’t just suffice to say we will not be back as there r plenty of other businesses that have been great and their staff r trained to look after their customers. It was my suggestion to go to Jets and i was...
Read moreI ordered the rissoles which were served undercooked. I’m not talking about a little bit undercooked, I’m talking about 100% raw on the inside.
I’m not someone who jumps online and leaves a bad review at the first sign of a problem, and my reviews generally don’t reflect the issue that I had with a business, more so they reflect how the business dealt with issue, and this review is no exception.
I felt sick to my stomach when I’d taken a mouthful of raw mince, even so, I approached the bistro counter and waited for another customer to walk away before very discretely raising my concern. The waitress was very dismissive saying things like “some people actually like rare beef” and “we can put them back in for another 5 minutes if you really don’t like rare beef”.
I was certain we were at crossed purposes so I asked her to come and have a look at my meal, assuming once she saw the raw mince on my plate she would understand that I wasn’t exaggerating or being picky, but no such luck.
She looked at the raw mince on my plate and again told me “it’s BEEF, not chicken. It’s ok to eat rare beef”. I honestly felt like I was on candid camera, trying to explain to someone who works in food service the difference between a rare piece of meat, and rare minced meat. I asked her to ask the chef what they thought about it, but she was steadfast. I had the impression that she thought I was an idiot for not wanting to eat raw beef mince.
She offered to take the rissoles back and cook them through “if you really want me to”, but I said I felt unwell (not from food poisoning, just from the idea of having eaten a mouthful of raw mince) and couldn’t eat.
I was not offered a refund or an apology.
The waitress wasn’t rude, but she was dismissive and was not particularly helpful.
Fortunately I did not end up getting food poisoning from the undercooked mince on...
