Needless to say, quite a disappointing experience when you get turned away when you are wearing shorts. Even worse when you have been a supporter of the business on previous occasions when you have been wearing shorts and simultaneously recommended the business. The supposed proprietor presented himself in quite a rudely pomp manner, claiming that there was a dress code, which we ultimately acknowledge. I don’t often call people arrogant, but the supposed proprietor here represented the pinnacle of arrogance. We have been a massive supporter of this business for several years during business trips to Launceston, but this will be the last time. For wearing shorts. When there were 6 patrons there on.. lo and behold.. a Saturday night! Oh and might I add, there was a drunk guy on the street, throwing up and stumbling to get in, and they let him in! Bizzare. But lucky for us, we found the...

There were so many great features about this bar, I don’t even know where to begin. Upon first entrance, you’re met with a wonderful energy. Drew, our bartender, made us feel important right away offering seats that were most comfortable to us. We were seated in two great chairs overlooking the sunset, and were spoilt for choice by the options. The menu also offered great features, such as bartender’s choice and a short description of each drink - to give you a bit of insight before you lock in your order. Our drinks were made with care and consideration to both of our flavour palettes. Drew put in the effort to ask about our preferences, so that we were truly happy with our drinks. One of the highlights of my trip to...

Edit: This review is a few weeks later, but I want to come on here and emphasise how good this place is. Here is why: Booze. Up front really good quality selection, which leads into; Awesome cocktails, really good combinations, highly knowledgeable barman, which leads into; Excellent service: Between the banter and the mixing the gent who served me (sorry I have forgotten your name), he knows his stuff. Like really knows his stuff.

End of the review: I'm not a fan of Launceston, BUT this place will bring me back. Massive high-5 to the chap who runs the place.

Oh PS:...

My husband and I came here for our anniversary and it was a real treat! The man at the bar made us feel very welcome. He has a great sense of humour and the drinks he made were absolutely delicious. We ordered one each off the menu and then enjoyed a the bar tenders choice surprise option, he was so good at guessing what we both would like based on chatting with us. I look forward to going there again and highly recommend it. I think my favourite part was how relaxed the feel of the place was. Somewhere to unwind and be in the moment.

Down an arcade and up two flights of stairs, but so worth it. From the moment we entered we knew we’d found somewhere classy and worthy of the title ‘cocktail bar’. Drew (owner and bartender) knows his stuff - the cocktails are sophisticated yet accessible (including in price). Great vibe atmosphere. Highly recommend as a highlight of Launceston’s drinking scene. Oh, and do get the ploughman’s platter - best value! Thanks Drew!

We came for a cocktail and loved it. Our drinks were fabulous so we lingered and ordered the charcuterie board. Divine! Gourmet food, friendly, prompt & attentive service which wasn't intrusive. Perfect mood music which didn't interrupt conversation. Only downside was access. Several flights of stairs from the rear of a small arcade. Well worth it though if you are seeking an intimate, subdued atmosphere.
