Lovely little boutique bed’n’breakfast set right in the thick of things in Launceston. Easy walk to Harvest Markets, the central business district, City Park & the Design Centre. While the room is on the small side, the bathroom was literally the cleanest one I have ever seen. Room nicely appointed, enhanced by a shared living space with lounges & a long communal table where breakfast is served. Seeing actual art on the walls was a particular delight, with the owner, Kate, also happy to discuss local art, and where to find it. Renovation to this historic Victorian era house has been sensitive and leaves the front face untouched, while bringing in light and the exterior world into the rear. Flowers are everywhere! Very pleased, would stay here again, hosts lovely and keen to make your stay in town rich & exciting.

Beautiful and Cozy Stay at The Florance I had a truly wonderful stay at The Florance in Launceston. The house itself is absolutely beautiful—full of character with elegant details, and the garden adds a charming touch with its citrus trees and manicured greenery. My room was warm, thoughtfully decorated, and incredibly comfortable, with lovely touches that made it feel like home. The host was very friendly and welcoming, making the entire experience even more special. Breakfast was delicious and fresh, with perfectly soft-boiled eggs, crusty sourdough toast, creamy avocado, and sweet cherry tomatoes—simple yet so satisfying. I had a peaceful and cozy time here, and I’m leaving with such fond memories. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a unique and heartfelt accommodation experience in Launceston.

Our stay at this beautiful restored piece of history and luxury was just magical ...... Because we stayed in a quieter time of yr, the room upgrade for my friend and I (and for my birthday celebration) was a wonderful surprise. The gorgeous rooms we had, have little private views of the garden and were as warm as toast . Any convenience you needed was at your fingertips topped off with peace and quiet, even though your right in the city. Kate and in-house crew were very accommodating and extremely friendly, we couldn't have asked for more. This was my second stay at The Florance and certainly won't be the last .

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Florance, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the owner, Kate, made us feel right at home. Her genuine friendliness and attention to detail truly set The Florance apart. The rooms were beautifully designed, blending modern comfort with a cozy, boutique charm. Everything was immaculately clean, and the little thoughtful touches—like the complimentary snacks and local recommendations from Kate—made the experience all the more special. One of the highlights of my stay was the delightful breakfast hamper each morning and the home-cooked eggs. Offering a perfect start to the day that I could enjoy in the comfort of my room or in one of the hotel's charming common areas. The location of The Florance was perfect, offering easy access to nearby attractions while still maintaining a peaceful, intimate atmosphere. I highly recommend The Florance to anyone looking for a memorable and personal experience. Kate’s warmth and dedication truly made this stay one to remember, and I can’t...

The Florance is a beautiful building and our room had gorgeous views across the park, plenty of towels (replaced each day) and an incredibly comfortable bed. The check in process was smooth and we loved being close to the park and Design Tasmania is worth a visit. Unfortunately the Florance is let down by the breakfast service. Our party of two was provided with a bag containing two sachets of muesli, a banana, an apple and two muesli bars. Supermarket brand yoghurt and milk and Just Juice boxes were available from the kitchen. Sliced bread was provided with the simple boiled egg and avocado plate. These things in themselves are not bad, but they do not hold up to the ‘boutique’ label, the price point nor the images on the website and instagram of pastries, a cereal bar and pitchers of juice. Perhaps this is a covid-friendly model, however it is a shame that the options are so slim, and with Tasmania being a food destination, a missed opportunity to use more local products. Overall we...

I googled The Florance and thought I had booked a 2-nght stay directly with the hotel. The site, acting as an agent of the hotel, provided no opportunty to confirm my booking, and then charged me double, including a $300 service charge. I immediatley rang the hotel, indicating my concern and was assured by Kate that they would review the situation. I heard nothing, and upon arrival, was informed that if I was stupid enought to book on that site, then I was at fault and had no recourse. This is a hotel happy to work with scamming intermediaries, and not prepared to take steps to protect customers that book in good faith. Toby in particular was rude, belligerent and extremely unpleasant. The hotel itself is more 3 star than 4 - self service check-in, supermarket items in a paper bag for breakfast and ants in the bathroom. Only agreed to refund the second night when I indicated that I intended to warn future customers. Book...
