We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Florance, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the owner, Kate, made us feel right at home. Her genuine friendliness and attention to detail truly set The Florance apart. The rooms were beautifully designed, blending modern comfort with a cozy, boutique charm. Everything was immaculately clean, and the little thoughtful touches—like the complimentary snacks and local recommendations from Kate—made the experience all the more special. One of the highlights of my stay was the delightful breakfast hamper each morning and the home-cooked eggs. Offering a perfect start to the day that I could enjoy in the comfort of my room or in one of the hotel's charming common areas. The location of The Florance was perfect, offering easy access to nearby attractions while still maintaining a peaceful, intimate atmosphere. I highly recommend The Florance to anyone looking for a memorable and personal experience. Kate’s warmth and dedication truly made this stay one to remember, and I can’t...
Read moreThe Florance is a beautiful building and our room had gorgeous views across the park, plenty of towels (replaced each day) and an incredibly comfortable bed. The check in process was smooth and we loved being close to the park and Design Tasmania is worth a visit. Unfortunately the Florance is let down by the breakfast service. Our party of two was provided with a bag containing two sachets of muesli, a banana, an apple and two muesli bars. Supermarket brand yoghurt and milk and Just Juice boxes were available from the kitchen. Sliced bread was provided with the simple boiled egg and avocado plate. These things in themselves are not bad, but they do not hold up to the ‘boutique’ label, the price point nor the images on the website and instagram of pastries, a cereal bar and pitchers of juice. Perhaps this is a covid-friendly model, however it is a shame that the options are so slim, and with Tasmania being a food destination, a missed opportunity to use more local products. Overall we...
Read moreI googled The Florance and thought I had booked a 2-nght stay directly with the hotel. The site, acting as an agent of the hotel, provided no opportunty to confirm my booking, and then charged me double, including a $300 service charge. I immediatley rang the hotel, indicating my concern and was assured by Kate that they would review the situation. I heard nothing, and upon arrival, was informed that if I was stupid enought to book on that site, then I was at fault and had no recourse. This is a hotel happy to work with scamming intermediaries, and not prepared to take steps to protect customers that book in good faith. Toby in particular was rude, belligerent and extremely unpleasant. The hotel itself is more 3 star than 4 - self service check-in, supermarket items in a paper bag for breakfast and ants in the bathroom. Only agreed to refund the second night when I indicated that I intended to warn future customers. Book...
