Normal Van Main Street — Restaurant in Margaret River

We ordered via text 2 x bacon cheeseburgers, double paddy, double bacon on both, no bun for both and a half serve of chips with extra seasoning.

Within a minute our order had been replied to and we were given a wait time of just over 15 minutes. This gave me sufficient time to watch a couple of reels about how awesome border collies are, put on some pants, and head into town whereupon I was greeted with a friendly smile and my completed order.

This stressfree and streamlined process meant I didn't have to have any awkward conversations whilst waiting, and it was so quick it made me wonder if I could have gotten away with not putting pants on at all.

When I got home the burgers were still warm and they were presented immaculately. Little paper burger wraps to hold the burger together had a super cute "Love You" written on them, and an epic amount of lettuce leaves around our meat, cheese, maple bacon and pickle stack so that we could hold them in our hands and for just one minute could pretend we were not glutards and were able to eat a burger like real people without the aide of a knife and fork. (They do have fantastical gluten free buns but we personally opt for less carbs and more protein)

The chips were perfectly seasoned to my liking and were a tantalising mix of super crunchy, and soft and fluffy. Great by themselves or for using to mop up the burgers juices that had dripped down my chin, hands, elbows and onto my plate. Insanely juicy burgers!

Cannot recommend Normal Van any higher. Thanks team for taking care of our lazy Sunday...

Time and time again, Normal Van delivers. They have perfected the pinnacle of a great North American style burger and chosen elevated, fitting, side dishes. The brand itself is fantastically designed, the theme of laid back, yet professional vibes shine through across the venue. The outdoor dining area is enchanting with soft lighting and sprawling vines, and gorgeous solid wooden tables. The indoor dining room feels homey and inviting.

The bacon cheeseburger is quite possibly the best I’ve had in Australia, with well balanced acid from crisp, crinkle cut pickles and onions fighting the fatty goodness of grass fed high quality beef, rich, generous cheese, and thick cut streaky bacon that lingers in your mouth after a bite with a subtle maple smoke. The normal chips on the side are well seasoned and addicting, providing a satisfying crunch and a perfectly cooked interior. The chips come with a smoked ketchup, reminiscent of a tomato relish with touches of sweetness and a deep oaky punch. Basically walked in at 11:15 - advised we open at 12:00 , but we are doing wine tastings if you want to try some. Decline politely - plenty of other places to eat , cheaper and with better selection, however went for a walk , come back at 11:51. Walked in to other customers sitting around. Went to prefer a drink.. no orders till 12 ? Ok , just a beer? Our till is not working.. so I wait patiently.. 11:59 walk up wait back from counter … patiently.. told immediately. - we are not taking food orders for another five minutes, reply ok. Look at clock. Is 12:00, I say I just want a beer.. it’s 12:00. Reply. Oh, my clock shows 11:55, “chef you ready for orders” 🤔 chef days “yes”. I repeat ,, “ I just want a beer to start with… …. Finally get a beer and get pressured to put my food order in now. Which was only around $100 mark and with two more beers and drinks for my family probably only $150 ..

Drank 3/4 of the beers and walked out…. Plenty of other places to eat….sucks when your treated like a tourist…
