Definitely worth the price you pay. I tried the traditional cold pork loaf banh mi with a Vietnamese milk iced coffee.
The Vietnamese iced coffee had a great balance between sweet and bitter.
The banh mi I have regularly eaten have been out of your Vietnamese heavy areas such as St Alban, Sunshine, Footscray, however, this banh mi was so much better. The roll was super crispy and fluffy, there was a good balance between meat and that fresh vegetables that provides you that fresh lightweight but filling experience of a banh mi. Could you use the most overstated word in food review history to describe it? Umami? Guess that's subjective, so give it a go and make that call yourself. I forgot about photos, was at the last bite before I realised yeah should've taken a photo, better you see first hand anyway.
Update: there are some pictures of a grilled chicken banh mi, I'd give it the same rating as what I described above.
Shall update...
Read moreReally lovely place, like a family business feeling. Lovely staff all around. Probably most famous for their banh my (like the volume they are selling is HUGE). I decided to go for a risky move and got the pho instead, which to my surprise, turned out to be pretty good. The beef was tender, noodles were soft, and soup was just right and nice. Will definitely come back for the banh my next time. So many options though, so might have to go back...

As others have mentioned the bread roll is the perfect level of crunchy, doesn't cut up the roof of your mouth.
The fillings are generous, tasty and evenly spread out.
Service was friendly and upon leaving the store was given a friendly goodbye as well. Ordered a long black and there was no need for two cups, was at the perfect...
