If you’re craving authentic Afghan cuisine made with heart and heritage, Afghan Mum’s Restaurant is an absolute gem. From the moment I stepped in, the warm atmosphere and inviting aromas made me feel like I was being welcomed into a true Afghan home.
The food is nothing short of exceptional. The mantu was delicate and perfectly spiced, the kabuli pulao rich and fragrant with every bite, and the lamb kebabs were incredibly tender—seasoned just right and grilled to perfection. The naan was fresh and fluffy, straight from the oven, and the homemade chutneys added the perfect kick.
What truly sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. The staff treat you like family, and you can tell each dish is prepared with care and pride. Afghan Mum herself is often present, greeting guests with a warm smile and ensuring everyone leaves full and happy.

Read moreHad a great time at Afghan Mums Restaurant in Dandenong. The food was top-notch, the space was huge, and everything was impressively clean including the toilets, which honestly left a lasting impression.
We ordered the Uzbeki rice (which is actually Kabuli Pulao) and it was absolutely delicious rich, fragrant, and cooked to perfection. The grilled fish, a white pomfret, was juicy and full of flavour. Every dish tasted fresh and authentic. The restaurant is very spacious, comfortably fitting over 60 guests. I also loved the family seating areas where you can sit on the carpet and dine such a nice cultural touch that adds to the overall vibe There’s also 1hour paid parking right in front of the place, which was super handy.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic Afghan cuisine in a clean and welcoming setting....
