I checked in cleared passport control and still hadn't heard from Chef Burger after many SMS messages went unanswered. Time to put the back up plan in place No Chef Burger then Burger King it is.
Oh crap Burger King is busier than a 1 legged man in an arse kicking contest. With trepidation I head across to Bar Pulpo, according to the signage it is "By Movida" WETF that means. Alfred introduces himself as the Manager and seats me, it is obvious to him that I am pretty basic in terms of intelligence and food knowledge. Alfred is very kind and generous with his time and establishes very quickly that my culinary experience Is no more advanced than a Burger King Bacon Deluxe, walked me through the menu and soon after a symphony of tasty pleasures hit the table. Some Jarmon across between bacon and Ham, croquettes salami olives of various sizes and colours washed down with a drink called Sangria and topped off with a cheesecake that looked like it had been left in the oven too long. Alfred assured me the cheesecake was not burnt, it is a traditional cake from the Basque. Thank you Alfred and the Bar Pulpo team for a magnificent journey that beat my usuall Burger King visit hands down. After two of our previous international flights departed outside of their trading hours, we were very excited to finally try out Movida at their airport location. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by a really friendly staff member and advised we could sit anywhere and order at the bar or via QR code. We chose the later and the food came out pretty quickly (very important at an airport!). We ordered the Pan Catalan, Mushroom and Mahon Cheese Omelette and the Chicken Schnitzel Roll. All three dishes were absolutely outstanding, super tasty and in keeping with Movida’s reputation by only using the best produce! For a brief moment in time we forgot we were at the airport which was very welcoming as they had created such a relaxed environment. Special mention to Annie, who was there for us from start to finish. Annie was pleasant to us and also pleasant to some other not-so-nice travellers. What a superstar!
