Located at the domestic airport Qantas terminal side , St.Ali has recently moved to this new location, just opposite security, which seems to be brilliant move, as it’s a first place passengers see after coming out. Good selection of food and drinks with several vegetarian and vegan options and something for everyone. It can get quite crowded as everyone wants to grab their flat white before the flight, but cafe seems to be prepared for this and is well staffed, so it moves in no time. I was there during morning rush hour and queue was moving in no time at all. Not too many, but few places to sit if you are lucky. Standard ready made breakfast and lunch food selection, but also chef made fresh choices, depending what you like and how much time you have. Coffee was decent and it was good to see you can even buy their coffee capsules. It seems that place also offers wines and drinks for the...
Read moreThe Australian male staff member of Asian heritage was extremely rude and defensive and charged us for baby's milk ($4). I paid it. Later my wife went to politely query whether this was okay because whenever we get milk from coffee shops for the baby's bottle in an emergency/last resort situation most people are happy to provide that and don't charge or charge $1 for a baby chino. He became extremely rude and defensive and thought that my wife was not from Melbourne and was saying this is standard practice. Really? He then said he charged because the milk was 180ml. This was incorrect because he asked me after I had paid how much milk I was after. Not having a bad morning or whinging and I understand that milk must be an operational cost but I am sure most customers don't ask for milk
Food was good and so were the staff, just complaining of the interaction. 510...
Read moreTerrible experience here as I wait to board my flight. Ordered a flat white and it seems like the barista does not know the difference between a latte and a flat white. Coffee was sour and left on the counter for quite awhile before it was served, mainly because both Batista and cashier were unsure who they made the coffee for. Coffee was slightly sour as compared to most of the coffee I’ve had in Melbourne. Unfortunately, the team here hasn’t been educated in terms of service. Barista delivered m the coffee with a rude attitude after knowing she was in the wrong and had the cheek to roll her eyes. Hopefully St Ali will look into this, hopefully the change of management does not relate to a...
