I shared an IG story of what I had for lunch in Perth two weeks ago and my friend in Melbourne replied by sending me two photos of this lunch deal. Here I am, in the flesh eating this $20 per person lunch steal with said friend on 12/07/2024.
With weather like Melbourne, it's a good time for a warm, comforting meal. Could not believe my eyeballs - for $20 per person - You have a choice to select a main dish from a list of 5 options which is served with a bowl of soup, rice and 13 types of bangchan (sides). The most I've seen in Perth is 3 types.
We wanted the spicy pork bulgogi but was informed it was sold out/unavailable and yukhoe beef bibimbap, so instead we changed our order to beef bulgogi and tuna sashimi bibimbap. The bangchan is refillable but we managed to finish the original serving, just barely between the two of us. Let's not be greedy and waste precious sides. Because god forbid how long the refills of sides remain free. The variety of sides allows you to make different combinations with the bulgogi and rice. Each side is perfectly seasoned and fresh. The tuna sashimi bibimbap was also delicious. Please note if you order the bibimbap, it's already a rice dish so you won't get the separate serve of rice for the other person.
It ain't a Korean restaurant without the kpop playing in the background. Friendly staff, be kind and patient too since there was only one person doing all the serving and taking customers orders. I didn't feel we waited long for food either. I won't have time to return to enjoy this place again so until next time Baru Gamjatang...

Read more3.5/5 stars: we got the pork bone hangover soup, seafood pancake and garlic soy fried chicken. the soup was good, a bit bland, not much meat on the bones and didnt have much in the soup base itself (like no veggies or mushrooms). the seafood pancake is one of the best i’ve had, quite impressed. and the fried chicken was just a big no. the batter was soggy, thick not crispy. And i thought you could never go wrong with garlic soy but here we are. the rice was cooked well- warm and soft, good amount of moisture and not dry at all. atmosphere was cute and lovely with small but decent seating area. I would go again to try their Signature pork bone...
