Was craving some Indian food while in Hawthorn, Melbourne. Came across this restaurant. They prepared fresh and hot meal per the la carte menu order I made. Food was indeed deliciously mouth watering including their snack items. They make everything per your customer request, really good customer service, very humble owner, as I get to interact with him. Family owned restaurant and the food is more oriented to North Indian authentic style. They do also have seafood options along with Indo Chinese. Again prices are not too expensive and very good quantity served compared to other Indian restaurant in CBD district of Melbourne where I was staying. Prices over there are insane. Also this restaurant is not to far from St. Kilda Beach if you are visiting there. Just take the tram or train I guess as well if you are coming from Flinders Street station. Just another 15-25 minutes of ride depending from where you are coming from.
Restaurant was neat and tidy. Waiting is not too long either and guys they don't charge an additional extra fee for credit card payments like some other restaurants do in CBD district in Melbourne. Avoid that CBD area and take extra few minutes to ride over here and enjoy a good meal and feel great with the delicious servings they offer.
Will definitely come back again, when I...
Read moreWith several Indian options in Hawthorn it can be hard to decide where to go, I decided to try my luck at D'Tandoor, and what a good choice First, location is great, almost at the crossroads There have tables inside (4 for 2 people, 1 for 4 people) and 2 outside (for 2 each) The menu is eager wide, with general starters, tandoori starters, classic curries, Indian authentic, seafood, vegetarian specialties, Indo Chinese, rice, breads desserts; with plenty of choices for each section. And it has very clear explanations, so even if you're not a specialist you'll get to understand what you're ordering I personally had butter chicken (a classic in Indian cuisine), kashmiri pulao (a rice with mixed dry fruit and nuts), garlic naan, and mango lassi And I mist say that it was really REALLY good! As much as I like Indian food, it can be hard to get it not too spicy, while still being tasty, and here it fully succeeded If when I arrived the place was quite empty (it was 6ish) it then got almost full, with plenty of takeaways and deliveries in between. No wonder it is popular Be it to eat in, take away, or get delivered, definitely...

From the very first bite, the flavors took me straight back home. The food was rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced—just the way Indian cuisine should be. The quantity was generous, making it great value for money. The restaurant was neat and clean, adding to the overall dining experience.
A special mention to the owner, who was extremely humble and welcoming, ensuring that every guest felt comfortable. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and I can confidently say that this is the best Indian food I’ve had in Australia.
