Food was ok but the issue isn't with the food. I've been twice and both times it took way to long to cook, first visit for 2 x Phillys was 20minutes, but only 1 person working so figured it was a one off.
There was only 3 of us, who ordered at the same time (with no back orders or phone/deliveries orders mind you), jus us 3. It took 26 minutes to cook 2 x Phillys and chips, after they served us the first 2, they then started to then cook the 3rd philly, which took another 12 minutes (which meant we had waited 12mins for the 3rd while ours got cold).
In total for 3 Phillys and 2 plain fries, takeaway, we waited around while it took them 38 minutes in total ( I had to check a few times to make sure). There was 3 staff and only 1 actually doing the food work out front.
Inexperienced staff on how to serve food doesn't help (e.g not efficient or prepped to handle orders in a timely manner) and they only have a small cooking plate, which probably one of the reasons they take so long and would struggle to make more than 4 phillys at a time (and in a timely fashion).
Looking at the menu, the items have descriptions
"served with fresh italian sauce" yet use a jar of Leggos pasta sauce "served with famous chilli sauce" yet use some splashes of tobassco
i like philly cheese in general and their shakes look good so im hoping its 3rd time lucky when i go back and it doesnt take a whole lunch break. Hopefully they can get better at...
Read moreI had really high hopes for this place. Insanely high hopes. Super pumped. First off I wanna say the floors in this place almost made me walk out alone. Seriously guys, disgusting! I stuck it out and thought I’ve come this far…I ordered a Fatboy Philly at $19 and was told (as it says on the menu itself) double meat, double cheese, mushrooms and peppers. My wife got a standard cheesesteak at $14. My wife had more meat and more cheese than mine. $5 more for a few peppers. What a scam! No flavour in the Fatboy besides peppers. Guys, hit the meat with some salt and pepper. Standard wasn’t bad flavour wise (coming from the cheese only) as there was more cheese than my roll that was meant to have double cheese. Roll quality was garbage (coles baked hotdog buns are better no joke). Oh and to top it all off there wasn’t a single mushroom in the whole Fatboy. Don’t waste your money and time. Guys seem friendly food came out in about 15 on a busy night. About the only positive experience. Tidy the place up and get the crust off your floors before the health inspector shuts you guys down. Also, watch out for foil in your cheesesteak! When they cut the roll, they must be using a blunt knife and had to pick out pieces of foil on the face of all...
Read moreAs a visitor to Melbourne, this place is a must visit! I'd never had a Philly cheesesteak before, but I was eager to give it a go. Reading the menu, I was immediately torn between chicken or beef. I love chicken, but it's a cheeseSTEAK...I was conflicted.
I asked the lovely gentleman behind the counter which he would recommend, and he suggested the steak for the authenticity and taste. So I ordered a regular sandwich and original fries. Within 5 minutes, it was brought out to me in a bag with a smile and kind goodbye. Now it was time to go home and eat.
Firstly, the portion sizes are generous for the price. I didn't expect this much food 😳 But nonetheless, demolished it because it tasted amazing! The fries had just enough seasoning and came with a complimentary dipping sauce. But the cheesesteak sandwich was the real star.
It was delicious, it was juicy, and even the bread tasted amazing. Such a great meal, and I'm so glad I got to try it before we...
