I know this review isn't really that useful in terms of culinary experience, but I think it's important to let people know what kind of people are in charge of this company.

I have been struggling to find a job in Melbourne for a month now, and I saw a Facebook post about an All Rounder position in this restaurant. I texted them and they told me to come do a trial the next day. I was obviously happy about this opportunity and got ready to prove my worth. I arrived on time, and said to the waiter that I am coming for a trial. She looks confused and looks to her boss, who's also confused. I show them the text message they sent me and they confirm that it is the right place. Then she asks me if I am coming for the cook position. I tell them that the advertisement was for an FOH position. Then she asks me if I speak Mandarin. I say I don't (they never said they were looking for a Mandarin speaking All Rounder). Then they proceed to say the driest "NO" I have ever listened. I came all the way to the restaurant on time, they made a mistake and they couldn't even say what was the reason of the mistake and apologize. I left so confused and upset but I'm not used to arguing so I didn't say anything else. Now I regret not telling them that that's not a good way to treat people, people who can be in real need to get a job. I can't say anything about the food they make but I obviously don't feel like ever setting foot there.

If the implicated people feel the need to reply to this review, please know that I have the Facebook post and the message you...

Awkward and strange experience..

Came with a friend via a 20% off EatClub voucher. Ordered agedashi tofu, karaage chicken with salted egg sauce, and curry chicken nasi lemak.

Don't order the agedashi tofu, as it is nothing like the proper Japanese dish..

Server misheard karaage chicken and thought we ordered the crab.. so had to send that back and ask for a refund on the soft shell crab we never wanted.

And their Curry Chicken Nasi Lemak wasn't actually curry chicken..?? They served me Fried Chicken Nasi Lemak (a different menu item), then put the fried chicken in a curry sauce, and told me that that was how they served the curry chicken.. very strange!

I wouldn't have ordered the curry chicken had I known it would be fried.. Do they really not make a proper curry chicken nasi lemak?? Maybe they just couldn't be bothered re-making my order?

Very strange! 2 stars because they were at...

Best cheap eats in Melbourne @foodhall.melbourne where under one roof they serve every type of Asian delicacy from Japanese to Korean to Thai to Malaysian. Budget friendly and quick eats for lunch or dinner, this spot is ideal for you.

Just calling out that the food quality is not exceptional, even the taste of the food is not that fantastic. But it’s still affordable, served in good quantity considering the price and taste wise I’d say pretty average.

What we had:

Spicy tonakatsu ramen, Nasi lemak with beef rendang, Boneless Korean fried chicken, Cashew nut stir fried chicken, Chicken satay skewers

My absolute favourite was the beef rendang and the spicy tonakatsu ramen and I’d highly recommend these two dishes. Nothing was too spicy and was quite delish.

The service is incredibly fast and prompt, and the staff are all very helpful,...

foodhall.melbourne in Melbourne CBD is like entering a haven of authenticity and homeliness. The ambiance exudes a welcoming charm that instantly makes you feel at home. However, it’s the food that truly steals the spotlight, transcending mere sustenance to become a soul-awakening experience. The pad thai, a symphony of flavors, stands out as one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The fried chicken, with its perfect crispiness, is nothing short of a flavor bomb. The nasi lemak and delicious rolls add layers of satisfaction to the culinary journey. Each dish reflects a genuine touch, echoing the warmth of home-cooked meals. For those yearning for more than just a casual outing, this food hall is a sanctuary of flavors, making it an ideal spot to delve into the heart and soul of Asian culinary delights in the heart of Melbourne.
