On approach, I realised we were the only people here and fought the instinct to go elsewhere on account of the high ratings. We chose our corner table and chose from the extensive menu.
The 6 tacos arrived first. This version came with only the filings on the soft base, and we added the condiments ourselves. The fish was crispy and lightly battered. The grilled Carne Asada was juicy and well marinated. The Pork Carnitas was well-cooked and flavourful, but a bit tough for my liking.
The Jalapeno Poppers filled with Philadelphia cream cheese jolted the tastebuds awake. It was a bit too spicy for my friend, but I found the spice exciting. The grilled corn was seasoned with dry chilli and Chipotle mayo; the result was a bit overpowering for me.
A couple more tables were filled while we were there, but they vacated quickly, so the place totally lacked atmosphere during our visit. The server was accommodating and helpful. It was an odd experience being the only diners there and felt a bit...

I have always struggled to find a good Mexican Restuarant in Melbourne with great flavour and a real authentic taste.
Every place that I have been serves either super bland food, dry tortillas, beef birria that is super oily and/or overly battered fish.
This little gem has managed to become a regular on my roster. I have only had their tacos and burrito but I can’t wait to try more.
Their tacos are packed full of flavour. The tortilla is homemade daily and it’s as fresh as it gets. I always get the grilled chicken and fish. You can get 3 for $18 or 6 for $32. You’ll regret only getting 3 though!
The birria tacos are a must, it’s a no brainer, you will want more! I always get a serving of three to myself. Not oily and the broth is so flavoursome, I’ve actually drunk the broth afterwards before 🤭
If you don’t come you’ll regret it. One of the best decisions of my life to come here. It really is the best...
Read moreI used to be a regular here and tell everyone that these are the best tacos and most authentic ones. It was my favorite Mexican restaurant in Melbourne! Seems something changed tho, as opening hours are different, less available and food doesn't taste the same anymore. It took a fair bit for us to get our meals and fish tacos arrived raw. The staff was apologetic and offered us some freebies to rectify, which was nice. Jalapeno poppers used to be my partner's favorite but these ones were totally different and didn't taste as good and were much more spicy than before. Spicy Marg is great, just the right amount of spice ! I was excited for my childless night out and some tacos with margaritas, unfortunately the place isn't the same as a few months ago. I don't think I will be coming back :( left 4 stars for old times sake, giving the benefit of a doubt, hoping we just...
