The food was decent, but the portion sizes were quite small considering the prices, especially when compared to other Sri Lankan restaurants and takeaway options. The dishes felt overpriced. For a group of eight—four adults and four kids—we ended up with a total bill of $410. Additionally, we found it surprising that cans of drinks like Solo were priced at $8.90 each; that seems excessive. The service was satisfactory, though we did have to remind the staff about a few dishes and our water refills. On a positive note, the atmosphere with the live band was fantastic, adding a lively touch to our dining experience. However, the cleanliness of the restrooms could use some improvement.

We had a wonderful time enjoying the lovely ambience and tasting the delicious sri lankan food. Staff was polite and beyond, music was soothing and the ambience catered to all age groups. Authentic sri lankan food with well maintained temperatures kept delivered to our table with fabulous cocktails using sri lankan spirits. I must say it's home away from home. The humble owner Nirosh made sure to personally have his rounds to ensure his guest are well looked after and expectations are met. What more to expect, machan you are the best in town.

Great atmosphere at this joint. Located just outside Dandenong Market. Make sure you book ahead as it fills up fast. Awesome tasting food made fresh to order. Menu is on your phone so you need to download it. You can pay via the app or at the bar. The bar is stocked with some great Sri Lankan drinks, arracks, toddy, beers, you name it. The staff are super friendly and social. There is a DJ and singer. Reminds me of my childhood when we went to Sri Lankan dinner dances. A must try for anyone who loves a good curry and Lankan music.

I recently visited 'Machan Nights' with my family & friends and it was an absolute disappointment. We were a group of 6, and upon arrival, we were FORCED to opt for their set menu without any prior notice during the reservation. When we booked, there was no mention of this policy which was completely unfair and misleading!!! The Management sent us whatsapp texts informing about they have introduced a set menu for groups but never mentioned this is compulsory, if its so we would look for something else rather spending $$$ money for this scam. BUT management said they have music and vibe.

The set menu itself was a total rip-off. The food quality and taste were abysmal. The starters consisted of frozen, pre-packaged fried items, and the mains like koththu and fried rice were far from being up to standard—bland, salty, oily, and unappetizing. Nothing about the meal felt fresh or worth the money.

This experience left us thoroughly disappointed, and I can confidently say we won’t be coming back. I sincerely hope others think twice before visiting. If you value your time, money, and taste buds, avoid this place. (Mr. Nirosh, yes I...

A Memorable Night at Machan Nights!

We recently spent an unforgettable evening at Machan Nights with four couples, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, offering the perfect blend of great food, lively music, and a warm, friendly vibe.

The Sri Lankan-style dinner was a highlight—authentic, flavorful, and served with care. Each dish was a delightful journey through local culinary traditions, and the drink selection perfectly complemented the meal. The live music added an energetic touch that kept us smiling and singing along all night.

A special mention must go to the owner, who took the time to walk from table to table, personally checking in with guests to ensure everyone was enjoying themselves. It was a thoughtful gesture that truly made us feel valued and appreciated.

Thank you, Team Machan Nights, for a wonderful night out. We’ll definitely...

We have been here so many times and yesterdays visit realized how poor they have been in their customer service. The table they allocated was right next to the toilets and there was no heaters close by. When we asked if we can have another heater close by,the abruptly said sorry this is all we have. They had no concern regarding the customer. The food was great, however their service is so bad, we had to wait for more than one hour for our remaining items we ordered. They deliver part of the order as soon as the order is placed and the remaining comes one hour later. We had to ask the staff 3-4 times to check where our food is. Customers pay in full when placing the order, and having being treated like this is absolutely pathetic !You guys rereally need to improve your service as its not fair for your customers having to wait for so long for the order. Absolutely...
