Love this place - definitely a hidden gem in Southbank, located near St Kilda road trams, Sturt St trams and on Coventry st. Super friendly staff, excellent food, with many healthy options, breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and afternoon sippers to make your mouth water.
The Bahn Mi are the best in our area by far, dare I say it, in Melbourne! (My two go twos - chicken schnitzel with coleslaw and pate base or roast pork and crackle with Vietnamese veggies. Yummmmmmmm!)
Queenie’s do a range of hot and cold dine in or take away foods/meals and are open early until 4ish. Seating is spread out - inside and out, with wheelchair access. Happy for you to sit and read with a coffee or do uni work etc.
Super friendly, family like atmosphere and very reasonable prices make for an all around great experience.
They use the app Rewardle to collect points from coffee/teas bought - so installing the app is worthwhile. Parking is paid using Easy Park app or meter. Parking is free before 8am. (Or get there by tram
Orders can be phoned in ahead. They do sell wine for those prone to an afternoon tipple and a gossip with friends, before they close.
It gets really busy between 11-2roughly with queues snaking...
Read moreI've been coming to this cafe for 5 years now, used to come nearly every day 2-3 years ago but now only once every few weeks to months. A friend of mine loves it so much he always brings visitors to Melbourne here.
Today I ordered a grilled pork roll with extra chilli and no coriander and was told that there was no pork left but they had chicken instead which I was happy with. Once I got home and unwrapped my roll I was pleasantly surprised at how spicy and flavourful it was. My flat white was also perfect as always (thanks to the friendly barista who always serves...
Read moreSo I decided to try this cafe today and ordered a coffee and a croissant and mentioned to the girl at the counter that I wanted the croissant slightly toasted/warmed up. I asked if I could sit and she said yes. As I got the croissant, it was cold from the inside. I informed her that its cold from the inside and she made a face and blamed me that “you asked for it to be slightly warm”. Instead of offering she could reheat it, she blamed me. I told her but its cold and if she could just heat the entire plate up would be fine by me. This entire experience wasn’t pleasant. I understand if it was my fault for asking it to be slightly toasted. But I have been to a lot of cafes and always ask for the same order and I have never experienced this anywhere else. Won’t...
