I awoke thinking it would be just another Friday this morning but was pleasantly surprised when I was told we would be having some Super Norma Pasta for lunch. From the moment we turned to corner the positive experiences began, with a cloud of aromatic air hitting us in the face and getting our taste buds well and truly warmed up and ready for a feast. The staff were, in a word, quite attentive, and more than capable of running our group through the menu whilst bringing up to laughter. Charm doesn't go far enough in describing the delightful pair.
While aromatic smells and good vibes are a wonderful thing, a pasta shop has just one focus - the pasta. On to the main act.
I had the Ragu, a stunning blend of 9 different meats that at once defied belief as an act of culinary revolution and yet also felt like something Nonna would cook back in the golden years. The blend of modern interpretation meets comfort food is a winning formula that carried across the rest of the rest of the menu. From the garlic bread through the dessert, every item hit every spot.
But the star of the show was the Pecan Pie,...
Read moreNewly opened Southern Italian inspired pasta place in Carlton! Here are what we ordered: 🥩 Ragu Napoletano ($25) 9 different cuts of meat beef, pork italian sausage, slow cooked for 7hrs in tomato sauce, herbs+seasoning 🥦 Broccoli-Salsiccia ($25) broccoli cream, italian sausage, parmigiano, pangrattato, chilli 🧄 Garlic Focaccia ($6) Overall food was okay for us. The Ragu pasta was the best among what we had but still we have had better ones else where. The Broccoli pasta was a bit bland that I have to add a lot of chilli oil. The dishes are served in a takeaway paper box with fork. The operation was very manual because they run with only two people and they ended up forgot our Focaccia. After waiting for another 5-8 mins, they served us with a very oily and way tooo much garlic on a focaccia (I really love garlic but tbh the way they do was very overpowering the taste of focaccia that I ended up getting the taste only of garlic butter) The atmosphere and vibe was really great, very homie, and lovely music from their vinyl records. I might go back and give it a try again once everything is...

But when we returned, the food still wasn’t ready and we ended up waiting almost an hour in total just for two boxes of pasta. When I went inside to check, my pasta was just sitting on top of the oven. I was clearly frustrated, and one of the staff members (short hair) gave me a look as if I was overreacting.
Overall, not a great experience. If you’re happy to wait that long and be treated like you’re the problem for being frustrated, then this place might be for you. For me, it felt more like social media hype than substance. The pasta was average (possibly soggy from sitting too long) and...
