Just had the worst experience at Zambrero Albury and honestly still feel sick thinking about it.
One of the staff was on her phone the entire time she was making my burrito talking away really loud and I swear some of her spit went right into my food. She didnt even try to cover her mouth or turn away just kept chatting while preparing my meal. Absolutely disgusting.
Short bit chubby lady who already looked like she hadnt washed her hair in days and her uniform was grubby so hygiene clearly isnt a priority. But talking on the phone while handling food is just gross and she had this really condescending attitude when I asked for extra salsa like I was bothering her. Same woman I saw last time posting on snapchat while working so clearly cant put the phone down for five minutes.
Previous time I was there she had what looked like fake tan melting off her hands while making food which was gross enough but this time was even worse. Definitely not the first time her hygiene has been an issue.
I couldnt even finish eating it because all I could think about was whether I was eating her saliva. Honestly makes me feel nauseous just thinking about it. Had to throw most of it away which is frustrating because these things arent cheap.
Pretty sure this breaks some kind of food safety rules. Will definitely be going to a different location from now on or maybe just avoiding Zambrero altogether. Really put me off the whole chain to be honest.
Would not recommend unless you want a side of spit with...

Read moreWe have always liked the burritos at Zambrero Albury but as of today 13/2/2023 we will not be returning to this store. We are certain that the store must have changed hands as it does not have the same happening vibe with the great young people who used to be behind the counter. We ordered three Power Burritos and the woman serving had no personality and did not have the skill level in wrapping or making the Burritos - Lots of black rice to bulk it up but very miserly on the beans, onion, tomato and corn and when I asked for lime juice which we like instead of sauce, I was advised that there was no lime juice. It is an ingredient of a Power Burrito. What shocked me and altered my mood was the way the woman dropped each of the three Burritos into the bag rather than placing them at the base of the bag. So disrespectful! Consequently, as a result of loading up the burrito with black rice and scrimping on everything else, and completely leaving out a mandatory ingredient of a Burrito, the lime juice, it was tasteless and awful. The woman had no personality and neither did the Burrito. Very expensive at $16.40 each. If blindfolded I would not be able to distinguish what I was eating. Give it a miss and save...
