We were driving home from interstate and decided to stay in Albury as we were getting tired. We came across the Albury Central Motel. Upon arrival, the owner came to the door and was very friendly and helpful. ||||He offered us the last available room for the evening. He personally walked outside, showed us where our room was and where we could park.||||The room was large, clean and well set out. I note a lot of reviews comment on the age and layout of the property. They seem to expect a 5 star resort for a 3 star price. For the price paid, it is a great property. It is not expensive, and considering the high inflation at the moment, it helps to keep costs low.||||The bed was comfortable with spare pillows in the cupboard. It had a large TV and the owner provided milk for our morning cup of tea.||||I would recommend this motel if you are looking for somewhere cheap, and have reasonable expectations given the lower price. If you are looking for a spa resort, this is not the place for you.||||If you are looking for a older, clean building with friendly owners, then perhaps this is the place for you.||||I will be staying here again when we...
Read moreWhere do I start. Bonus budget accommodation close to the train station. Awesome location due to the shortness of our stay. But that's where the pros end. Check in was easy. The man at the front desk was helpful, although, I was under the impression that the property accepted cash, but my credit card was charged anyway. Traveling with a group of 4, we got the room at 'B Block', i suppose you call it. The rooms were supposed to sleep 4, and consisted or 3 double beds, and a mattress set up in a closet. which was strange. BED BUG ALERT. The double bed in the front room infested with these little critters. Would have left a formal complaint at the front desk, but since we were leaving early, and the front office didn't open until 9:30am, we couldn't. Owners, please be aware of this. Altogether, a very unpleasant stay, which was unusual, given the review score here. Won't...
