I'll start off with the positives. Flavour wise for the food was good, staff were friendly, and seemed to be an alright joint overall. After attending Aurora Albury on Saturday in a late slot, we decided to come here. They couldn't seat us as it was 45 minutes to closing (fair enough) and said that takeaway was an option and we quickly checked with staff if they had cutlery we could take with us to the motel. No problems there. Placed an order for the Carbonara, Wagyu Beef Osobuco and a 1.25L bottle of coke for $66.07 (including card fees); asked if we could wait just outside at one of the tables and no problems were raised with us (table was in view of the counter). We were told it would be ready in about 15 minutes. 30 minutes later I walk up to the counter and staff immediately recognised me and got another staff member to check up the status of the order. It looks like it had been waiting in an insulated bag as they immediately went over and picked it out. No big drama, but definitely some of the heat had left the meal. Get back to the motel and find that the Wagyu Beef Osobuco was as in the picture. Felt a bit ripped off at what $36 got me, especially as it didn't have mash, more than 5 beans or any other vegetables. Quality of what was there was good, but felt extremely disappointed by it. The portion of Carbonara was decent for the price and was good.

Awesome pizzas! We live in Brisbane and as a family we are very particular about only eating gourmet pizza. There is literally only three places in Brisbane that we think makes outstanding gourmet pizza! You can imagine our surprise when we turned up to this large country town and found a restaurant which made what we thought were some of the best pizzas we have ever eaten. The bases, which are made by hand, were thick and yet crisp. The sauce base was very tasty. The ingredients were fresh. They were outstanding pizzas! However, there was something very unusual going on!? Whenever people at a table had finished their pizzas a staff member would come over and clean the table with some form of bleach or ammonia. The inside of this pizza restaurant literally smelt like a hospital! We immediately moved outside to eat our pizzas which, as I've mentioned, were outstanding. If you don't want to smell a hospital bleach/ammonia smell whilst you eat your pizza you need to sit outside!

Best gnocchi I’ve ever eaten. Every bite was a flavour sensation. Wine glasses were lovely and thin, service was personable and all meals arrived within a few minutes of each other. We told the server how hungry we were, and she had the garlic bread to our table within 5 minutes of ordering. The garlic bread had cheese on the top and butter on the bottom - rather indulgent. My friend ordered the seafood platter for one (pictured) which he loved - lots of variety and rather large portion. Great value for money. As stated before I was blown away by the gnocchi - it looked like a small portion at first but it's just on a big plate. And gnocchi is very filling. I was certainly full afterwards. Although it was so delicious I wished I could have kept on eating it. I'm sad this restaurant is not nearer to where I live because I'd be coming here all the time.

A family member who has eaten at Downtown Pizzeria over many years, suggested we catch up here for lunch today. We've not dined here previously, so had no preconceptions. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our shared Chargrilled Meat Platter. The lamb, chicken and pork ribs were SO tender and tasty. All of the other accompaniments to the dish, hummus, flat bread, chargrilled vegetables, crunchy chips, salad and more, were just as enjoyable. The Ocean Delight woodfired pizza that came to the table looked fabulous and was very much enjoyed. They are truly wood fired pizzas. Finally, the service was friendly and attentive and we'll definitely be back. How did I not know about this place! If you want great quality and value I highly recommended.
