went to miine for my girlfriend and i's anniversary was very excited to try it out because i had seen and heard a lot of good things. when we arrived we were greeted by a polite young man who ran us through the menu and got us seated i attempted some light banter complimenting his tatoos but he was disinterested and promptly left it took a little while for someone to come back around to ask for service nothing crazy but in that time we heard the table next to us get offered complimentary drinks for their anniversary where as for us there was no mention which is understandable but a restaurant should realistically be consistent with those offers and such - later after ordering we noticed a limited wine selection (for by the glass) with only one sparkling option and then entres came out a little after our drinks which is obviously fine. the entres themselves i was expecting to be more flavoursome but they ended up just being overly salty (puff bread) and not complimnetary with the other flavours at the table (buffalo mozzarella) which just ended up leaving us feeling a little let down after having higher expectations later on after we had finished our drinks no one came around to offer us a refill of wine or water and our mains came out immediately we noted that the spicy vodka maccaroni was drowned in lemon juice for whatever reason when there is no mention of lemon on the item listing in the menu that left an over powering smell and taste in the dish that was both not spicy or overly flavourful on a dish that wasnt very large for a main portion. as well as this the pork mafaldine which was very average and also not flavourful, we then ordered another puff bread that disappointed us further and we left feeling full but not very satisfied. the same waiter that sat us down was quite obviously annoyed when we didn't leave a tip and did not thank us for dining.
At the end of the day we were just expecting much better the atmosphere is great its a very cool space but the service and food was lacking and for a sunday which we could tell was not busy we shoudlve at least had our empty...
Read moreCelebrated our wedding anniversary by dining at MiiNE last night. Overall, the food and drinks were absolutely fantastic! 😍😋 I especially loved the puffed bread with hummus dip and the lamb pappardelle - everything was so fresh and flavourful. 👌🏼 The ambiance was inviting. Service started out well—we received a warm greeting upon arrival, and our waiter brought over still water promptly. But we had a couple of service issues as the night went on.
We ordered the chicken saltimbocca without prosciutto and emphasised this a few times, but it arrived with prosciutto, so we had to wait a while for a new one to be prepared. Our waiter also seemed a little distracted by friends at a nearby table, and as a result, no one checked in on us after we finished our main courses. We hoped to order dessert, especially since we noted it was our anniversary in the reservation, but we couldn’t catch a server’s attention.
We were a little disappointed, as we thought MiiNE might acknowledge our anniversary with a small gesture like other restaurants have done for us in the past, but there was no recognition at all.
Thank you for an otherwise enjoyable experience - better attention to these details would have made it...
Read moreShared a dinner here and was initially fooled by the nice vibe and atmosphere—if only the food and service had matched. We ordered the puffed bread, which was delivered with a dramatic slam onto the table by a different waiter to what we were greeted with (mid-conversation, no less). A bold choice in service style, I must say. Of course, the dipping sauce that supposedly comes with it was nowhere to be found—maybe that’s an extra?
The mains arrived after a leisurely 40-minute wait, which really gave us time to ponder whether we’d ever actually get fed. When they did show up, the pasta portions were adorably tiny for what they charge. And let’s not forget the $20 bill for two bottles of water that were so kindly “offered” at the beginning—what a bargain.
My friend, who’s coeliac, ordered the gluten-free pasta, which was so undercooked it was practically crunchy. The pizza and pasta in general? Let’s just say they were… edible.
As for the wait staff—consistently rude from start to finish, which, honestly, takes commitment.
Overall, not an experience I’ll be repeating. Once is...
