Bobeche — Restaurant in Perth

After a wonderfully sublime dinner and service at the Heritage restaurant upstairs with a group of friends for a Birthday, we made our way downstairs to check out this great looking and vibing bar / lounge. That's where the greatness ended. After securing a table for our party of 8, the hosts seemed friendly and attentive...THEN the first round of drinks took about 25 mins to arrive. THEN....they forgot 2 of our ordered drinks. THEN after countless requests and promises for a simple order of ice water, we were forgotten about twice. THEN one of our friend's drink orders was completely forgotten about, and after around 45 MINS since the first order, the drink was then finally delivered! The bar was at about 70 percent capacity and not overly busy, yet the staff seemed frantic and all over the place. Very very disappointing. The unfocused service completely killed any fun vibe our group carried from the delightful dinner upstairs. For the insane 20+ dollar per drink prices they were charging, the cocktail quality and service left miles to be imagined. - PS the watered down "Moscow Mule" they served us which had little to zero vodka in it, and came in a warm ordinary glass (instead of the signature copper cup) was an absolute disgrace. Such a shame, because the bar and decor are absolutely gorgeous and have so much potential. Better management of staff, improved delegated service zones / tables for staff to maintain and higher quality cocktails could possibly save this hidden treasure...

Me and my friends regularly come here for drinks after dinner and normally have a really good experience. Today we arrived at the bar at 9:50 and it was very busy. After looking for a table we could see there were none available for our group of 6. However, there was a set of couches round the corner with a reserved from 9:00 sign on the table. I asked the bartender if we could sit there given it was now nearly 10 and the table said reserved from 9. After having a look, the bartender told us that would be fine, and I moved over to the table to sit down and remove the reserved sign. A short man with arm tattoos and a beard then approached me and my friend and angrily told us that “the reserved sign is there for a reason”. And then proceeded grill us aggressively about how it was reserved (which was quite obvious) and how we had jumped the queue. When we explained the barman had told us it was fine he said “I run the floor here not the bartender so you need to come to me”. This man wasn’t wearing anything that identified him as a member of staff, and when we walked past appeared to be sharing a drink with the table of women nearby. If we new we had to speak to a random looking man chatting with a group of women we would have - we thought it was probably more appropriate to ask a person who we were certain was an employee. We made a booking for 8 people well in advance for my birthday to sit in a couch area at 6pm. When we arrived we were shown two small bar tables with stools. I wasn’t very happy with them so when a small lounge area was free we moved there but then got told we needed to leave the area by 8pm as there was a booking. So when another lounge area was free we moved there and again got told this area was reserved as well for 8pm and that the minimum spend was $2000 (minimum 25 people we were told) to sit there even though before we sat there, there was only a couple sitting there before us who had one drink each. When asked to double check our booking as we had reserved a lounge area at 6pm, the staff member went to check with the manager and came back saying we still needed to leave the area by 8pm, even though we only switched to sitting on the couch at 6:45pm. At 7:45pm we were told we would have to move back to the tables as the booking was arriving by 8pm. We moved back to the bar tables and waited for them to arrive. They arrived at 8:40pm and there was only 5 people. I am super disappointed as we specifically booked this place because there was relaxed lounge seating available. There were also other lounge areas which we weren’t offered even though there were no reserved signs on them. Food and drinks were really nice but wouldn’t make a booking...
