Took my nan and uncle here for the roast. The sign out front read “OPEN” around 11:48, so we went inside. We were told they weren’t open yet and asked to leave, which meant stepping back out into the rain and wind. A moment later, a staff member changed their mind and said we could sit inside while we waited. We were seated upstairs with menus, but things quickly went downhill. About six minutes later, another couple sat at the table next to us. Despite making eye contact with the waitress after 12, she went straight over to serve them and ignored our table. Eventually, I got up and politely asked for service, and à gentleman came to take our order. When the food arrived, no one checked on us for drinks or to see how the meal was. The roast itself was very good — especially the roast potatoes — but service was almost non-existent. At one point, the waitress who had served the other couple came over, used the giant mirror to check herself, and then went back to chatting with colleagues instead of attending to guests. Plates weren’t cleared for a long time after we finished eating, though eventually we were able to order more drinks and dessert. Again, no one checked in afterwards — no offer of coffee, more drinks, or even the bill. In the end, I got up and paid at the counter on the way out. The atmosphere was amazing and the roast itself was great, but the lack of attention and basic service really spoiled what could have been a fantastic experience. I’m not too mad because I only spent $170 dollars all up, but if I had purchased any of their more expensive dishes I’d probably be more put off.

We went last night after seeing posts of their Sunday Roast menu. All I can say is WOW!! đŸ€© So glad we went! Called up about a couple of hours before we turned up & was greeted with a fantastic guy on the phone & assisted for 6.45pm booking. We got there a few minutes early but was able to be seated right away which was great. Atmosphere was fabulous, food was amazing, but Phil was out of this world, his friendliness, humour & hospitality definitely made the night! I wish more restaurants have more of PHIL!! đŸ˜đŸ‘đŸ» We ordered 3 different types of Sunday Roast ~ my mom ordered the vegetarian, my teen son, beef & I, the pork. When the food came they were so generous & delicious!! My mom could not stop singing praises as she loves roast meals! Both meat & veggies were cooked beautifully, the number of mushrooms in the vegetarian option was great, definitely not skimping! Beef was tender & not dry, looked even like cut steak than the usual dry, overcooked roast beef. The pork was also delicious. Proper roast meal complete with yorkshire pudding! They were crispy & fragrant, especially happy with how fresh they were like straight from the oven! Priced at $29 a plate is an absolute bargain as we were all so full to the brim & still had leftover to take home! Thank you once again, especially to Phil! You’re an absolute gem & a credit/asset to the establishment. We will definitely be back to try other dishes!! 5 STARS!!

Wow where to begin! For starters, the ambience and atmosphere were absolutely lovely. Situated in the heart of Northbridge, Fallow is convenient to get to and offers a range of seating areas for different vibes. We were seated upstairs in the dining area and the decor was gorgeous! Vintage charm everywhere. For starters we had the steak tartare which was mind blowing. My top spot still remains Balthazar, however this was delicious as well. Pickled mushrooms as garnish really made the bite come together and the steak was perfectly seasoned. We also had the Malaysian fried chicken which was scrummy and the focaccia which you can never really complain about bread can you. Mains obviously were focussed around the steaks. My brother had the wagyu and my dad the sirloin both with different sauces. They were cooked perfectly based on our preference (med rare) and were presented pre sliced on the plate which we appreciated. I had the cheeseburger which was so so yum and simple which made it more enjoyable. I will say that the Mac and cheese was extremely underwhelming. Not creamy, no seasoning and just a real let down, however everything else we had was delicious so I can’t fault it there. Our server was absolutely gorgeous as well. Attentive without being obtrusive and before I forget, black cherry margarita is a MUST try!! Thanks so much guys, I will definitely be back.

I shared my experience directly with management via email as per their marketing post dining, and received zero reply to our poor experience at Fallows.

This just highlights the service we received last Friday even further.

Do not recommend this place.

My review sent directly to Management:

I was quite disappointed in the experience at Fallows, especially considering the price I paid which was over $1000.

The service was below average - from the moment we walked in, there was no staff available to greet us and I had to wait in the middle of the bottom floor near the rear to call a worker over. In which she then stated go upstairs and find someone with the same iPad.

We then proceeded to walk upstairs, got seated and were given two menus. We had to call staff so we could order drinks and again when our friends arrived no one came to our table at all to take their drink order and we had to call staff to order food.

A few issues;

we ordered three medium rare and one medium well steaks. All were medium rare and we had to send one steak back to get cooked further in which when we did this the male waiter walked away in a stressed state and said he doesn’t know as he’s only worked there for 5 hours

the sauces were meant to come with pepper sauce, we asked to change two to chimmichurri instead and two can have pepper. The lady said this was okay, but it was not the case. Not only were we charged additional for the chimmichurri but we received no pepper sauce. We enquired and the male staff said sorry we’re out.. so technically we paid $10 for sauces we asked to swap over, on top of the $20 worth of sauces we didn’t get with no offer of anything else. The fact they didn’t communicate this when we ordered also was frustrating and we had to follow it up and it took 5 minutes for I’m assuming the floor manager to come out to tell us

steaks were served on big metal plates with no space to put our sides and no small plates given for our sides so we had no space whatsoever

we were given butter knives to eat our $115 steaks with
sorry but all steaks should be served with steak knives

We weren’t checked on once throughout the night. From my experience I most definitely wouldn’t recommend Fallows, when you have so many steak houses nearby I definitely think these things need to be...

From the moment we arrived at Fallow, the evening felt a little disjointed. Upon being seated, we were informed that the restaurant was expecting to get busy. Your very friendly team promptly took our drinks order, but it took 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. During this time, we placed our entrĂ©e order and were advised by the lovely waitress that if we didn’t also order our mains immediately, we would “go to the bottom of the queue” and face a lengthy wait. Feeling rushed, we scrambled to add extra food to our order to tide us over and ordered another drink, anticipating a long wait.

The food was a mixed experience. The scallops, while tasty, were chewy and extremely expensive. For comparison, we recently enjoyed scallops at Matilda Bay, which were superior in quality and slightly less expensive. The steak tartare we ordered was initially excellent, prompting us to order another later in the evening. Unfortunately, the second serving was disappointing and lacked the quality of the first, leaving us wondering if the restaurant was winding down for the night. The corn ribs, however, were sensational, and the rest of the food was generally okay.

The decor and location were highlights of the evening—absolutely stunning. The team was warm and attentive at the start of the night (we arrived at 6:45 pm), but the service noticeably declined as the evening progressed. Although we were told multiple times that the restaurant was busy due to a large function, we saw no significant influx of patrons, and much of the upstairs area remained empty.

It left us perplexed as to why the restaurant wasn't staffed adequately to handle both the function and regular diners. If the venue wasn’t prepared to service both effectively, perhaps it would be better to limit bookings. By the end of the night, the team seemed short-tempered with our table and others. When we left around 10:30 pm, some staff were sitting on their phones in the function area near the restrooms.

Overall, it was a nice night, and the food had some standouts, but there were several areas for improvement. The rushed ordering process, inconsistent dish quality, and declining service throughout the evening detracted from what could have been an...

I'm going to be critical here but only because you charge such high premiums to dine here.

We walked in and there was no one to great us. We had booked a reservation for upstairs so just decided to go up. When we got up, we were told that we booked downstairs - even though we showed our booking for upstairs. We were than told "unfortunately your table is down stairs and we are fully booked up here so your table is down there". Not a great start but at least we had a table.

Tap water was awful. So we asked to buy Still Water - don't have any. Asked for a bourbon list - did not exist. Showed me the list on their Square handheld but no pricing listed.

From there, service was tricky. We had to put so much effort into getting someone to take out order and this is easily because there seemed to be only 2 waitresses that were sitting people, running food, taking orders and clearing tables. We even just went up to the bar to be told it was table service. We ordered 2 bottles of wine, both were out of stock and ended on a third because it was available.

Now the food... We got a serve of Focaccia each - one arriving burnt. But it came with nothing, no butter - just bread. We ordered that for entree and the rest of our food for mains. The sides and half the food came out, the rest about 10mins later which left half the table with nothing to eat. We ordered 2 Ribeyes, both at Medium rare - one arrived on the edge of rare and the other was badly undercooked so was sent back. A new one arrived but my god was it salty. Not sure if it was the the garlic butter on top but it was hard to enjoy. Both came with a quarter of an onion stuck on top that was half raw. No steak knives provided and both served in these metal trays that were impossible to keep still while cutting these charred steaks with dinner knives.

Once our table was eventually cleared, he asked for a dessert menu. We then sat with that menu for about 15-20mins waiting for someone to take our order and it just never happened. We decided to just leave and go somewhere else.

Now we are 4 people that eat at high-priced, high star restaurants all the time. Unfortunately, you are charging premium pricing for food and service that doesn't...
