I shared my experience directly with management via email as per their marketing post dining, and received zero reply to our poor experience at Fallows.
This just highlights the service we received last Friday even further.
Do not recommend this place.
My review sent directly to Management:
I was quite disappointed in the experience at Fallows, especially considering the price I paid which was over $1000.
The service was below average - from the moment we walked in, there was no staff available to greet us and I had to wait in the middle of the bottom floor near the rear to call a worker over. In which she then stated go upstairs and find someone with the same iPad.
We then proceeded to walk upstairs, got seated and were given two menus. We had to call staff so we could order drinks and again when our friends arrived no one came to our table at all to take their drink order and we had to call staff to order food.
A few issues;
we ordered three medium rare and one medium well steaks. All were medium rare and we had to send one steak back to get cooked further in which when we did this the male waiter walked away in a stressed state and said he doesnât know as heâs only worked there for 5 hours
the sauces were meant to come with pepper sauce, we asked to change two to chimmichurri instead and two can have pepper. The lady said this was okay, but it was not the case. Not only were we charged additional for the chimmichurri but we received no pepper sauce. We enquired and the male staff said sorry weâre out.. so technically we paid $10 for sauces we asked to swap over, on top of the $20 worth of sauces we didnât get with no offer of anything else. The fact they didnât communicate this when we ordered also was frustrating and we had to follow it up and it took 5 minutes for Iâm assuming the floor manager to come out to tell us
steaks were served on big metal plates with no space to put our sides and no small plates given for our sides so we had no space whatsoever
we were given butter knives to eat our $115 steaks with⊠sorry but all steaks should be served with steak knives
We werenât checked on once throughout the night. From my experience I most definitely wouldnât recommend Fallows, when you have so many steak houses nearby I definitely think these things need to be...
Read moreFrom the moment we arrived at Fallow, the evening felt a little disjointed. Upon being seated, we were informed that the restaurant was expecting to get busy. Your very friendly team promptly took our drinks order, but it took 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. During this time, we placed our entrĂ©e order and were advised by the lovely waitress that if we didnât also order our mains immediately, we would âgo to the bottom of the queueâ and face a lengthy wait. Feeling rushed, we scrambled to add extra food to our order to tide us over and ordered another drink, anticipating a long wait.
The food was a mixed experience. The scallops, while tasty, were chewy and extremely expensive. For comparison, we recently enjoyed scallops at Matilda Bay, which were superior in quality and slightly less expensive. The steak tartare we ordered was initially excellent, prompting us to order another later in the evening. Unfortunately, the second serving was disappointing and lacked the quality of the first, leaving us wondering if the restaurant was winding down for the night. The corn ribs, however, were sensational, and the rest of the food was generally okay.
The decor and location were highlights of the eveningâabsolutely stunning. The team was warm and attentive at the start of the night (we arrived at 6:45 pm), but the service noticeably declined as the evening progressed. Although we were told multiple times that the restaurant was busy due to a large function, we saw no significant influx of patrons, and much of the upstairs area remained empty.
It left us perplexed as to why the restaurant wasn't staffed adequately to handle both the function and regular diners. If the venue wasnât prepared to service both effectively, perhaps it would be better to limit bookings. By the end of the night, the team seemed short-tempered with our table and others. When we left around 10:30 pm, some staff were sitting on their phones in the function area near the restrooms.
Overall, it was a nice night, and the food had some standouts, but there were several areas for improvement. The rushed ordering process, inconsistent dish quality, and declining service throughout the evening detracted from what could have been an...
Read moreI'm going to be critical here but only because you charge such high premiums to dine here.
We walked in and there was no one to great us. We had booked a reservation for upstairs so just decided to go up. When we got up, we were told that we booked downstairs - even though we showed our booking for upstairs. We were than told "unfortunately your table is down stairs and we are fully booked up here so your table is down there". Not a great start but at least we had a table.
Tap water was awful. So we asked to buy Still Water - don't have any. Asked for a bourbon list - did not exist. Showed me the list on their Square handheld but no pricing listed.
From there, service was tricky. We had to put so much effort into getting someone to take out order and this is easily because there seemed to be only 2 waitresses that were sitting people, running food, taking orders and clearing tables. We even just went up to the bar to be told it was table service. We ordered 2 bottles of wine, both were out of stock and ended on a third because it was available.
Now the food... We got a serve of Focaccia each - one arriving burnt. But it came with nothing, no butter - just bread. We ordered that for entree and the rest of our food for mains. The sides and half the food came out, the rest about 10mins later which left half the table with nothing to eat. We ordered 2 Ribeyes, both at Medium rare - one arrived on the edge of rare and the other was badly undercooked so was sent back. A new one arrived but my god was it salty. Not sure if it was the the garlic butter on top but it was hard to enjoy. Both came with a quarter of an onion stuck on top that was half raw. No steak knives provided and both served in these metal trays that were impossible to keep still while cutting these charred steaks with dinner knives.
Once our table was eventually cleared, he asked for a dessert menu. We then sat with that menu for about 15-20mins waiting for someone to take our order and it just never happened. We decided to just leave and go somewhere else.
Now we are 4 people that eat at high-priced, high star restaurants all the time. Unfortunately, you are charging premium pricing for food and service that doesn't...
