I stumbled upon Howard's Groove Coffee during my lunch break one day, and it's become my favorite coffee spot in Perth's CBD ever since! Tucked away on Howard Street, this retro-styled underground coffee bar feels like a hidden sanctuary from the busy city streets.
The coffee is absolutely outstanding - rich, complex, and perfectly prepared every single time. They serve Twin Peaks coffee as their house blend, but I love that they regularly feature different roasters from around Australia and internationally. Their batch brew is particularly excellent when I need something lighter.
What keeps me coming back is the combination of exceptional coffee and the unique atmosphere. The space has this cool lo-fi diner vibe with amazing artwork from local artists covering the walls. It feels like a creative hub where you can take a moment to breathe and enjoy your coffee properly.
The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly - they remember regulars and are always happy to chat about their current coffee offerings without any pretension. When I'm hungry, their toasties are the perfect accompaniment to the excellent coffee.
If you're a coffee enthusiast looking for something beyond the usual chains, Howard's Groove is absolutely worth seeking out. It's become my weekday ritual, and the quality and consistency keep me coming back. This place is truly a gem in Perth's...

I’ve lost count of how many Mont Blancs I’ve tried in my quest to find the best — but Howard's Groove Coffee in Perth has officially claimed the top spot. I’ve already been back multiple times (and counting), just for their Oat Mont Blanc. That should say it all🤭🤪
Only available for dine-in, this cuppa of 𝗼𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰 is worth travelling down for‼️ Made with Howard's Groove Coffee cold brew, airy oat whipped cream that seamlessly melds into the coffee, topped with a touch of orange 🍊 zest for that citrusy flavour & dusted with some nutmeg for that warm spice element. The orange 🍊 zest on top instantly lifts the drink, making every sip indulgent yet refreshing😌 It's the best mont blanc I've had so far. Every time I return, it’s just as good😚
I’m a prosciutto girlie so I added on a layer of prosciutto to this 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗲, which has stretchy melted mozzarella, pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, & basil 🌿 sandwiched in a crusty, buttery toasted to golden perfection sourdough slices. It’s warm & savoury, pairing so well with the Mont Blanc🫶🏻
Featuring 📸: ~ Oat Mont Blanc $9.50 ~ The Italian (+prosciutto) $15

Read moreMy review's purely based on their Oat Mont Blanc which I HAD to have two in a row of... the cold brew and the foam on top had an excellent synergy perfected by the orange zest. I really don't like the acidic after taste of a lot of 'good coffee' but the Oat Mont Blanc had none of anything that puts me off cold brew. If I wasn't being rational about my caffeine intake, I would have had 5 in a row and then went back the next day... If I lived in Perth, I would definitely be a regular there. I recommended it to any/everyone I came across the following few days I was staying in Perth. I really really hope they still have it on their menu when I go back...
