The PICA Bar is the night life of James Street Mall, Northbridge..... The atmosphere is always electric...!! A great night out and very popular after a show at The State Theatre especially.... The food is just beautiful.... Huge servings and extremely fair prices.... Such a great looking building from the outside.... The Interior though, would shock many, it seems so much bigger when you are inside...!! The beer garden is quite private, considering the location.... The best place to hang out with a group of friends, extremely popular with the younger generation, although during the day, it's a very quiet place where you can sit and read the paper, enjoy a coffee and a great breakfast.... This is one of the "coolest places" for University Students at night..... But in all seriousness, it's not a loud or aggressive pub... The atmosphere is always refreshing being around youth & a great mix of middle aged people.... The Food is honestly delectable....!! Don't give up the opportunity to dine in such a a great place, the service is second to none... I've received better service here than in some exclusive restaurants in Perth....!! The Pica Bar must be added to your bucket list..... Not to be missed out on.... Free wifi also.... Great place to just relax in the afternoon or enjoy a wonderful lunch...!! I've added some more photos, as I said above, the food is excellent, especially the taste, presentation & efficient & friendly service.... Very popular place for lunch in the Northbridge District, James St Mall..... Must visit.... 😊🍺🍸🍸

Really good place to bring large friend groups less than 10, smoking friendly and large tables outside which are good for those groups but kinda wonky and not very drink friendly, the staff here are always really nice and chill, place is usually pretty clean and the outside is usually a good music level to have conversations and stuff. Outside isn't great for people who don't smoke however but there is indoor seating and another outside / front area that would suit maybe a small family or a more formal setting. Thought place isn't really formal at all. There is a large selection of good craft beer and large selection of wine. The pricing is pretty standard for Northbridge nothing super special but not really in the over priced bracket, I think sometimes they have specials but not sure. The outdoor area isn't really covered besides a large tree so when it rains it isn't not really the best place to be. I haven't seen any live music here before but they usually play pretty popular folk rock and classics. Can really take a bit of time to get served if you come on a sat or Friday night however the energy of the place is worth it. The bathrooms are ok. The crowd that usually comes here is young but there is honestly a pretty good mix just people who want to smoke drink and talk.

PICA Bar: A Local Hero and a Perth Institution! PICA Bar is a true local hero and an enduring Perth institution that continues to shine, even amidst the surrounding changes. Despite the ongoing renovations at the Perth Cultural Centre, PICA Bar is not only open for business but is still delivering a fantastic experience. It's a testament to the character of this place that even with the construction, the atmosphere remains as great as ever. PICA Bar has a unique, laid-back vibe that's perfect for a casual drink, a lively catch-up with friends, or a quiet moment of people-watching. The spacious courtyard, good music, and an eclectic crowd all contribute to a feeling of community and effortless cool. They offer a solid selection of drinks, and the food menu is always a reliable choice for a satisfying meal. It’s a place that feels familiar and welcoming, and its resilience in the face of temporary disruption only makes it more admirable. If you're in the city and looking for a classic Perth spot with an unbeatable atmosphere, don't let the renovations stop you. PICA Bar is still trading strong and is absolutely worth a visit. It’s a reminder of why it's been a favourite for so long.

The venue is lovely, with natural lighting and a set up that really compliments the historical building. Unfortunately the staff seem miserable and unwelcoming. It almost seemed that customers were an annoyance to them. I ordered steak and chips medium rare and what I got was a few measly shoe string fries, less than what you would get in a Maccas small fries, some lettuces and onions steeped in an oily vinaigrette, and sirloin steak with gravy. I didn’t mind the sides as I was more interested in the steak. Unfortunately as I got half way through my steak I noticed it was cold and chewy, when I looked closer I saw that it was rare, completely rare. I maybe would’ve continued to eat it if I wasn’t concerned with possible food poisoning. I was so disappointed, so I took it up to show a staff member, who immediately got defensive and stated that I have eaten most of the meal. She then offered me some more fries in return for the steak that I will not get to finish. I was not looking for a refund, but I also was not expecting to be treated that way. No apology, no offer of another steak, no understanding. Her response to me caused me to tell her that it is not my fault the steak is inedible, and that I request a refund. She begrudgingly got me a refund, scowled at me as she slapped the money into my hand. What a disappointing experience. If someone higher up in staff ranking reads this, it’s in your power to lift moral of your team. If your team is happy your customers are happy. Maybe you should find that positive energy in...
