Universal Bar — Restaurant in Northbridge

My brother and I had our 21st here last weekend. Beth was absolutely amazing she did an incredible job and needs to be praised. The issue was with the security guards, especially Ian. I had payed lots of money to have my function there and for Ian to come and tell my family and friends they need to leave before the event was even suppose to finish was extremely frustrating. Beth was trying to remain calm and explain to us that we where allowed to stay but Ian insisted that we must all exit the venue (he even pushed one of my friends down the stairs to kick him out). He was extremely rude and ruined the whole night for me which was disappointing as we were very excited to have our function at universal and have been planning the night for months. After being told that we where allowed to stay at the venue just down stairs by Beth, Ian took it upon himself to just kick all of us out which resulted in over 100 people being stranded on the streets of northbridge. We were unable to go anywhere else as the lines where to long so we ended up just going home which is not how i wanted to spend my 21st. there was also a lady security guard on that night who was extremely rude to my family who were around the age of 60-70, forcing them to leave the venue. overall a horrible way to end the night and i hope that this doesn't happen to...

Having a great time the music and crowd were good. My brother inlaw who's 62 goes to the bar to grab a water around after his second drink. The so call head of security grabs his drink of water and asked to sniff it!!!! After realising it was water was allowed to go on his way. 2mins later the apparent manager told his security personnel to ask him to leave for no apparent reason given but the manager wanted him gone. To my disbelief I asked repeatedly why the three of us had to leave, with the same answer the bar manager wants you gone. I asked the bar manager what he had done wrong with no answer but he needed to go. Rest of the security couldn't even explain why. Please review your footage and clearly you will see there was no reason he should have been ejected from the venue. Manager clearly needs to apologise for this outcome. Thank your manager for ruining a good night. Not the first time I have seen innocent people treated poorly and removed from the venue that had an physical ippisode and mistaken took it as he was drunk even after every one around them tried to explain what was going on to no avail to your security. Atleast your security staff were kind. But your bar manager/security...

Had my 30th birthday party here last weekend and had the best experience. All staff were great. Can’t fault one thing. I can’t remember all their names unfortuantly but Montana, Jason, the young girl, and the male bartender on the night were absolutely incredible to deal with.

The atmosphere was great, the communication was great, the drinks were great. Even the DJ nailed the brief of the songs I wanted. All my guests told me how great the venue was. Staff were so accomodating and made my night very easy and stress free.

Unfortuantly I had about 26 guests drop out on the day and the day before, but with the great vibes and atmosphere it was hard to care.

Staff allowed me to come in earlier in the day to set up the venue to my liking, and even held onto my cake to grab a few days later.

This was my first time at the venue and I’m still in such a high with how great, easy and stress free it was.
