Have never felt so compelled to write a review before but this experience was tragic enough that others should be forewarned.
Upon arrival we should have noted that service was virtually non-existent as the waiter could not have made us feel less welcome. Did not take the hint and sat down for tapas and a drink after being told only tapas was available due to the time of seating (2.15).
The tapas menu turns out to not be the tapas menu within the menu but a totally different and even more limited offering.
After being ignored for a very long time, just as we decided to cut our losses and go somewhere else, a waitress came and took our order - we decided to just have a wine and consider our options.
The wine was basic but fine, came in a relatively timely manner and it appeared we would get out alive and content enough. Did not see a staff member until our drinks were finished so had no option to order a snack from the tapas menu even if we wanted to.
Upon paying, the price was quoted to us and it appeared there was a 50% surcharge so two $10 glasses of wine cost $30! This was questioned with the waiter (the original waiter who clearly did not want us to be there upon arrival) and we were told this was just how it was and it was a surcharge. I understand a Sunday surcharge but 50% is beyond a joke and we get awful for the very few customers there who had ordered full meals if they were about to receive the same wonderful news.
Overall, quite possibly the worst experience of customer service and restaurant mismanagement we have ever had and references in other reviews to Fawlty Towers are not an exaggeration. Absolutely would not return or encourage any one else. The restaurants around were much busier and had a significantly improved atmosphere, head to one of...
Read moreHigh price tapas but low quality food.
Tapas- ribs barely had meat, tough to chew, not marinated, dry bourbon rib sauce. Ribs belong as food scraps for pets. Chef need extra time to soften ribs. Ribs were even hard to separate from using a knife. If you're after ribs, there are other restaurants to go to in Palmwoods, Alex Headlands and Mooloolaba.
-Korean chicken - same again, chicken wings were not marinated, but cooked well, but only depended on sauce. Sauce tasted like plum type sauce was added, not really a typical Korean chicken wings. Coleslaw with korean chicken wings were not good. Freshly made coleslaw salad but sauce is deficient. Chips were cooked well.
Medium steak was nothing to remember for. Mash potatoes and vegies were good.
All these food are not hard to make. Chef/s need...
Read moreSadly the only redeemable feature with this restaurant is friendly wait staff. Food was dreadful. Worst, most tasteless ribs EVER! Tough, chewy, not marinaded, just glazed across the top like a con. Noticed people at other tables closely examining their dishes, and some sending their food back to kitchen. Wait staff seemed aware of poor quality and were too embarrassed to ask the usual 'how was your meal'. Thought new decor looked good, until we realised the wine barrels under some tables meant you smack your knees if you try to pull your chair closer to the table. Another table had a large, floor-mounted power block located under a dining chair where someone's feet would normally go. Should have been tipped off by how few tables were full. Won't go again. Life...
