1915 Lanzhou Beef Noodles — Restaurant in Sydney

By far the worst experience/restaurant i have ever been to from the quality of the food to the disgusting attitude of the staff and apparently the owner “Shawn” The dry and cold plate we received resembling dog food, coupled with the rude and unprofessional behaviour of the management, made for an unforgettable and regrettable dining experience. Avoid this establishment at all costs. They have zero care factor and laughed at us while we genuinely communicated our issue with the food. They also refused to offer a refund because “they can’t give everybody a refund” ????? To make matters worse, despite our valid complaints, the management adamantly refused to provide a refund or even consider making a fresh plate. After continuous discussions that lasted 1 hour of back and forth the chef finally agreed to make a new plate to “show us that there’s nothing wrong with it” like his life depended on it instead of just listening to the customer and admitting the dish may actually be cold and disgusting. The girl at the front that initially mishandled our complaint stormed to our table with the new plate and SCREAMED AT US. When I asked her to not scream and leave us alone she TOOK THE PLATE BACK to the kitchen to punish us for not allowing her to harass us. When we came up to the manager/chef to tell him about what happened he said “did I say I was gonna make u a new plate ? I have trouble with my memory” and he then said “I just made a new plate to show you how we make it” which left us gobsmacked at how we were treated and with no choice but to leave with no refund or even eating our food that we PAID FOR. I have been to this restaurant many times since it has opened, and it has never failed to satisfy me. They are halal and are very busy during peak hours, often with a long line that leads out the front door. I came here with my friends the other day on a Sunday at around 6:30 and it was surprisingly not too busy with a good amount of tables still available. The store has beautiful china on display and decorations on the walls, which really creates a nice vibe. The prices are very reasonable, especially compared to other restaurants in this day and age. You also get to pick the thickness of the noodles when you are ordering, which allows you to customise your own personal preference. Their kitchen has a window that allows the dining area to see the noodles being hand-made and pulled, which is very cool. Our food was prepared and brought out to us very quickly in less than 5 minutes. We ordered the Spicy Mala Beef Noodle Soup and 2 portions of the Classic Beef Noodle Soup. I asked for extra chilli in my noodles when ordering, but they also have extra chilli oil (and vinegar) on each table so you are able to adjust the flavour if needed. They also have a drink station where you can get hot water or hot tea. The noodles are very soft and well cooked, and they soak in the rich broth very nicely. You can see that no strand is exactly the same and that it is very clearly hand-made, which adds to the authenticity. The beef slices are so soft that they practically melt in your mouth, and you won't even need to bite them, although I felt like there could've been a bit more beef.
