1919 Lanzhou Beef Noodle (Market City) — Restaurant in Sydney

My sister went to your Market City branch in Sydney today (28-04-2023) to have lunch. And it was a bad experience that she told me. Even humiliating for her. She ordered a noodle soup and a siomai. Waited a couple minutes for it. Soup came first. But as soon as she finished the soup. The siomai never arrived. My sister understood that they were a bit busy. But a little act of kindness and respect will be much appreciated. When the siomai was ready after several minutes, she asked the lady at the counter if she can have it for take away instead. The asian lady said they don’t have time for it and the other asian lady was laughing. Which is rude. And they asked my sister to pay 50c which she was okay with it. And thenas soon as she paid for it, the asian lady ask my sister if she can do it instead. And move to the side to do it. My sister understood that they were a bit busy. But a little act of kindness and respect will be much appreciated. My sister was crying when she was telling me this. And I felt bad and sorry at the same time.

This place serves average noodles and soup. The menu and display of a chef preparing fresh noodles was promising. However, this dissipated after being served by the very unhappy and disinterested lady at the counter. Rather than serving customers and myself with clarity and focus, she was more interested in having a conversation with a colleague in her native tongue. At the collection of the food, her attitude didn’t change, and she had to be reminded quite sternly I had paid for a drink and to put it on my tray. The noodles tasted great, and you could definitely tell they were fresh. That is where the positives end. I only had five (yes, five) thinly sliced pieces of beef. For the price, I would expect more.
