Unfortunately I feel this place has quickly deteriorated. Three small pieces of soft shell crab for $19... apparently that's normal, although six pieces is also normal?! Also a lot of the things on the menu are just far too spicy, like the mixed seafood dish, and the laksa - I've had a lot of laksas around Sydney and this one, apart from not tasting right or having the right consistency in the first place, was inedible due to the extreme amount of chilli in it. Apparently I have to ask for it to be made more mild if I were to order it again, which is not something I have to do in any other restaurant. We are withdrawing our support from this restaurant which up until now we have considered a gem. P.s. also, $7 for a bag of average prawn crackers is crazy. Edit - the fact that they think that it's defensible to only give three small pieces of crab for a main dish is why we won't be going back - if it was merely a mistake to be corrected, fair play. Perhaps it's my fault in ordering a Malaysian soup from a Thai restaurant re: my laksa complaint. Of course it isn't going to be actual...
Read moreI was quite excited to try this place. Since Bo Thai left crows nest I have been looking for a good Thai and this has good reviews.
Pros: Dining in area looked really nice and open.
Green Curry flavours were nice. They have 30% off for cash only pickup meals.
Cons: A bit misleading on two fronts. I saw the ad (attached image) and ordered pickup. When I got there they said it was cash only so I couldn't get the offer of 30% off and I should bring cash next time. Quite expensive without the discount as I'd ordered more things thinking the discount would apply.
Also menus says the chicken satay was chicken breast but it was really grisly and I don't think it's breast meat.
I paid extra $3 for more vegetables but it wasn't worth it. I don't think it's any different from normal. There was also alot of oil on the green curry.
Overall I won't go again and wish it had been more obvious in the advert as I'd walked down there that the 30% off is...
Read moreVisited on Saturday night. We ate the Prawn Betel Leaf entrée, wife ate the Tom Yum soup served with a good amount of prawns, we shared a bowl of Coconut Rice, I ate a Massamun Lamb Shank with Roti, and for dessert we shared the Taro Cake, the meal came to $75.60. Not really street food at that price. Noisy kids on Saturday night, some, not all. Ambience not cosy at all. Food okay, fatty Massamun Lamb Shank, though sauce was divine. Coconut Rice not smooth, seemed like some mistake happened with that. We drank the complimentary tap water and ate the complimentary prawn crackers. Service was outstanding, can't be faulted at all. Lots of staff and every table was filled. We basically enjoyed the meals and the fantastic service. We thought we would give it another try in a few months, we'll see...
