⭐️Amazing ambience, the interior design is and classy and the background music was so vibey. I sat on the wooden bench inside which was super comfortable and i felt so relaxed. ⭐️Outdoor space was well organised with umbrellas for blocking the sun and perfect for big groups. Very clean and hygienic especially needed now with covid. ⭐️I ordered an Iced Latte with the Classic Lox bagel. The coffee was absolutely amazing i loved it, it was fresh and smooth. The don't offer flavoured syrup but i think that's what makes the coffee extra yummy. The bagel was also very good, the ingredients paired nicely together and the salmon tasted fresh and of high quality. The bagel bread itself tasted homemade. ⭐️Prices: The latte was $10.00 and the bagel was $16.00. Latte was a bit pricey but it was definitely worth it. ⭐️Staff were so welcoming and friendly, their smiles made it extra comfortable walking in. Absolutely loved this place!! I will definitely be coming here more often. I discovered it on Google maps with such high reviews so i decided to try it out and it did not disappoint.

Stopped here for takeaway coffee and babychino today. I ordered 2 small coffees and the baby chino and was surprised that it was over $13. I reasoned that it’s expensive because of the location but $3.80 for a babychino is a bit steep when it is a teeny cup of milk and no marshmallow. The small coffees $5 and nothing special so a little disappointed. They didn’t even fill any of the cups close to the top so just felt a bit let down. Also the staff there were not particularly friendly. My child and I nearly got knocked over by someone from the kitchen who just screamed ‘behind you’ at me when she could have easily stepped around us. She still knocked into us even though there was room and since she announced herself she clearly saw us. Just my experience, the place seemed busy so must be generally ok but definitely pricey.

The day before I walked past and knew that this would be a great place for coffee and my instincts were right. Black & White is located behind MCA on George street. The layout of the cafe is a little awkward that you need to walk up to the mezzanine level to order, which wouldn’t be accessible for someone disabled unless they provided table ordering. There’s small seating area on the mezzanine level, as well as ground level and on the footpath. The coffee is great, the best in the rocks area but very expensive ($5.8 for large latte), not sure if I could spend almost $6 for a coffee each day. On the menu they offer all day breakfast, bagels and sandwiches & burgers. (All priced between $14 - $18).

I have never experienced such poor service. We ordered and sat at a table outside around 10am, it was obvious how busy the cafe and area was, we chose to order here as a cafe over the road told us their wait was around 45 minutes.

When ordering we were told there were no bagels left, so we were happy to have toast. After sitting down our drinks were bought out soon after. We saw many people order and sit or stand and time started to get away. Around an hour later people around us who ordered after us started to get their food.

We went in and asked and were told “the food is coming, there are 3 tickets in front of you”

Unsure of why our cream cheese toast and B.C.C was pushed behind at least 3+ other orders, who clearly ordered and sat after us, we continued to wait.

The waitress bought out someone’s take away coffee and I checked in again to see why ours was taking so long as others have received their food and she said she would check. She then came out and asked what bagel flavour I would like after being told there were no bagles left, my partner said if it’s going to be another 20 minutes we would like to leave. She said it wouldn’t be 20 minutes as it was being prepared now, they were all apologetic which I appreciate but nothing was coming from their apologies.

After all of this another person came out and apologised to us and said he would offer us a full refund, which we accepted.

Only to assume our food would still be coming as we had now waited close to an hour and a half, I asked another waiter who walked by, I explained that we had received a refund but no mention of if our food was still coming as we were told just before that it was being prepared to which he replied “oh did you still want the food”

I understand it was a busy time but it was handled very poorly which lead me to this review. Close to one and a half hours later for 2 bagles we settled for a Gozleme from...

Good food, reasonable service, but unfortunately a truly horrible experience! I stopped by on a Saturday morning and got a BCC and takeaway regular chai latte. The BCC was served on a jalapeno cheese bagel and had some great flavours. The chai was good too (or so I thought). As I was getting to the end of the chai I encountered a clumpy bit of what I thought was clove or cinnamon. I opened the lid and to my horror I saw what looked like a silverfish/cockroach like bug about the length of my fingernail. I went up to the counter in shock and asked the staff whether what I was seeing was real and they confirmed that it wasn't their chai (which came out of a bottle) and was indeed a bug of some sort. I wanted to vomit! 🤢 How does a cockroach in a chai even happen??? It was only after the staff apologized and I stood there in shock for a few moments did they even ask if I wanted a refund. "Yes, I think that would be a good idea" was my only response to such an obvious question without seeming rude. The staff (who were actually quite nice and attentive otherwise) then processed my refund for my drink and meal. I'm pregnant and health professionals stress that bad food hygiene (like bacteria and viruses carried by cockroaches) can lead to pregnancy loss, so needless to say I was traumatized by the whole ordeal on a few levels. Later when I looked at my credit card statement I realized that not only was I overcharged initially, but I was also only refunded the cost of the chai. Given the fact that I DRANK PART OF A COCKROACH I would've thought the least they could do was refund the whole purchase. Needless to say, I've told everyone I've talked to over the past few days to steer well clear...
