What a mediocre experience. I booked a table for three and upon arrival, the door staff pointed me in the direction of a bench seat sitting outside (on a freezing day). When I asked staff if there was any indoor seating, I was told to go and have a look but probably not.
So outside we sat, made the most of it and ordered some food. Two of our meals arrived after about 20 minutes and by the time we had finished, the third still hadn't arrived. 50 minutes had passed and when we called over the door staff to tell him that one of the meals had been missed, he leaned over very uninterestedly, yawned in my partners face and left (unamused) with the information we gave him.
We didn't hear back from him so we told somebody else (a much nicer female staff member). She discovered that there had been a "printing error" (presumably the order had just been lost/thrown out) and the meal would soon be arriving.
The QR service was incredibly slow for the drink order to come out, so I ended up going inside to order at the bar. While standing there (sober as a judge next to some screeching girls having tequila shots), my young yawning friend from earlier approached me and said "You've been here a while mate, you might want to get some water with that drink you're ordering."
It took all my diplomacy to bite my tongue when this boy half my age started giving me fatherly advice, but I ignored it and went back to my arctic bench outside.
Once we had finally finished our eventual dinner and were leaving, the two other members of our booking went upstairs to use the customer toilet. As they were each coming back down the stairs, Yawn-face accosted them both separately on the stairs asking where they had just come from and what their intentions were for going upstairs.
In all, the evening was basically a metaphor for the entire state of Sydney's dining and night culture these days. Slow service, death by exposure and a door boy with a bigger ego...
Read moreOur experience at this brewery last night was absolutely unacceptable. While our parents were already inside, the security guard at the entrance aggressively stopped the rest of our group from entering — without any clear reason. He spoke to us with zero respect, raised his voice, used foul language, and repeatedly yelled things like “I’m making the decision,” as if we were being punished for simply wanting to join our family.
What made it even worse was that this happened in front of a crowd gathered for the Christmas in July festival. Everyone around us could see and hear the way we were being treated — it was humiliating and completely uncalled for. Instead of helping or explaining anything, the security team chose to escalate the situation unnecessarily, making a public scene.
We were left standing outside, embarrassed, confused, and deeply disappointed. This kind of behavior doesn’t belong in any hospitality setting — especially not one hosting a festive, family-friendly event.
We will not be coming back, and we strongly suggest management take a serious look at how their security staff is representing their business.

We understand your legal obligations under NSW liquor laws and aren’t questioning your right to refuse entry where appropriate. However, the issue is not the decision itself — it’s the aggressive, disrespectful, and unprofessional behaviour of your security staff.
What’s even more troubling is that your team made a blanket decision to deny entry to our entire group, despite the fact that individuals were in very different conditions. According to NSW liquor licensing laws, assessments of intoxication must be made on an individual basis.
Frankly, I’m surprised you’re defending a decision that was generalized to a group without any legal basis to do so. We hope this feedback leads to better training and fairer handling of such situations...
Read moreWe were a group of 20 people coming from the French Christmas Festival, hoping to enjoy a drink together after a great evening. Our partners had arrived earlier, were already inside the bar, and had ordered drinks while waiting for us.
Unfortunately, we were stopped at the entrance by security in a very dismissive and disrespectful manner. When we asked why, the guard vaguely said that some of us had “glassy eyes.” When we asked for clarification—who exactly?—he refused to answer and simply stated, “I’ve made my decision,” while raising his voice and saying we couldn’t question it.
We’re not short of options for good venues, but what made the situation frustrating was that our partners were already on the other side of the entrance gates table waiting with drinks and security guy could not care less , and this decision that was made without any real justification, put us in a situation where we could not simply go to another place. It felt unfair, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary—especially in a festive public setting.
I strongly urge the management to review this situation and re-evaluate how their security team engages with patrons to not be from their personal point of view, but with reason and respect.
No one should be...
