I had a pretty poor experience at the Kent St deli. I didn't really order the 'New York' experience but it seems I got it. I was the only customer as I walked in to the modest shop round 10.40am. Was pretty much ignored whilst the staff talked amongst themselves. Finally, when served I ordered a Reuben but asked for pastrami instead of corned beef. The attendant tried to tell me to order a pastrami sandwich but I said I want everything on the Reuben but with pastrami. She agreed. Also ordered a Cubano (toasted) for my partner. After I was served a mature guy walked in and was called "sir". I'm a mature woman and was pretty much ignored. Then around ten more people came in. Everyone ordered hot food. Four customers, (one of whom ordered a burger and a coffee), all received their orders before me. Some of them ordered chips ffs! Then one of the attendants tells another attendant that my sandwiches are on the bench. He hands then over like it's my fault they've been sitting there. All pretty disappointing. This spot has been on my list for ages and it defs lived up to the hype. Went during work lunch. My fave had to be the Lox Bagel and Nashville chicken sandwich!! The Nashville had a spicy kick to it and the chicken was tasty, paired with pickles and coleslaw. The bagel generously filled with cream cheese and salmon, and the perf amount of capers - honestly the best bagel I’ve had. I actually re-toasted the bagel the next day and it was just as fresh!! The Reuben was cheesy and the slices of meat were thick. Not to say it wasn’t delicious, but I personally think there are better contenders on this one out there.

Honestly can’t wait to try their other items as everything here is super great value and you won’t be disappointed by the portions...
