4/5 Stars – Great Value, Tasty Food, No-Fuss Experience
Chinatown Noodle King is one of those places that might not impress you at first glance, but once you sit down and start eating, you’ll understand why it’s still going strong.
Yes, the decor is a bit outdated and the atmosphere feels somewhat no-frills. The service is also more on the efficient and stiff side than friendly—don’t expect warm smiles or chatty waiters here. But honestly, that’s not a dealbreaker. What you do get is fast service, tasty food, and great value, and that’s what really matters.
First things first—the food. Portions are generous, fresh, and full of flavor. It’s not gourmet-level or aiming to win awards, but it’s honest, satisfying food. If you’re hungry and want to leave full and happy, this is the place. We were served a complimentary bowl of tea (nice surprise!), which was a refreshing way to kick off the meal.
The menu is huge—there’s a massive variety of noodle dishes, dumplings, rice meals, and sides. Whether you're craving soup noodles, dry noodles, or sizzling hot plates, you'll probably find something that hits the spot. Everything we ordered came out quickly and was piping hot.
What I really liked: the remote ordering system at the table. Each table has a handy device where you can press buttons to call for service, order, cancel, or request the bill—no waving your hand around or being ignored. Even better, there's a QR code you can scan with your phone, and it already knows your table number. Super convenient and a big plus if you value a streamlined dining experience.
The price-to-portion ratio is great. You definitely get your money’s worth here. It's an ideal spot for students, groups, or anyone looking to eat well without breaking the bank.
All in all, it’s not a fancy place, but it delivers where it counts. Good food, quick service, fair prices, and tech-savvy ordering. If you're in the area and looking for a no-fuss, filling meal, I’d definitely recommend giving Chinatown...
Read moreNoodle king is located on Sussex street, 3 minutes walk from Chinatown. I was reluctant to walk in as the restaurant was empty and looked shabby at first glance. There’s nothing that impressed me with the interior, looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for years as the yellow oil stains and thick layers of dust building up on lights and door gaps. At this point in time, Noodle king looked like a wreck.
The menu has a lot to offer except the restaurant noodle king is a bit deceiving as there’s not a lot of noodle dishes on the menu. The average price per dish was around $16.8, which I thought for Chinatown standards was reasonable. I was impressed with the generous size of the beef noodle soup. The noodles are handmade which taste unique and different compared to other noodle restaurants. The pan fried buns were a disappointment though, they came out looking like burnt scones and didn’t have the crunch I was looking for.
Overall noodle king probably lives up to its name, however the restaurant needs to work on their hygiene because it’s was a big...
Read moreI have been visiting this hand made noodle house for years till 2018 for eating lunch during work days. I really liked the hand made noodles either fried or boiled with the stewed pork 😋
After COVID, I changed my work places and current one is located walkable distance from the restaurant. As this I’ve been visiting this handmade noodle house for years right up until 2018 for lunch during workdays. I always loved their handmade noodles, whether fried or boiled, especially with the stewed pork. 😋
After COVID, I changed jobs, and my current workplace is within walking distance of the restaurant. Since it’s been raining this week 🌧, I thought why not go back for some comfort food? And yes, they still have it! The food is just as delicious as I remember. 😋
I highly recommend trying one of their handmade noodles or handmade dumplings if you get the chance to visit. Thanks for still...
