I would like to share my experience of my first time at a cruise bar to watch a Drone on Sunday Vivid night. My friend booked a table for 5 people, but when we arrived, There was no table for us , The staff and manager only said “ Booking isn't garrantee that you will get table ! “ Unfair for customers that who booking at all. if we didn’t get table, why we have to booking ???? This is my question. There aremore sentences that Managers and staff should not speak to customers. In addition, the attitude of the employees towards customers It's a gesture that shows displeasure with us. I feel very bad about the service. After that They given a table with no view at all for us. Uncomfortable to seating and hard to eating on that table. and we received undercooked food unripe corn , The staff took it back and said they would bring new one. New corn has arrived. It is just bringing The corn was put in the microwave and then served again. The lobster bun had bones that couldn't be completely removed. in 2 hours, There were no employees to take care of us at all. i have to walk to find them many time.
After the drone show is finished We returned to the table and found that other customers were already seated. It’s mean Staff didn’t reserve the table for customers! (Didn’t care for service). And another manager come to talk with us So he found a new table for us and gave us new food and drinks, but that didn't make us feel good about the service from the start. Event new food and drink , we waiting around 30 minutes.
i do understanding that Cruise bar location is popular for vivid periods , You should organise well for customers coming in. Especially booking people! The booking customer should get tables. Managers and employees are not organized well enough. and We received no apology from the manager.
The cruise bar is very good spot and nice location. But this our first time make us Feeling unfair and very very disappointed for the service. Especially Manager , can’t solve any problems properly.
And we would like to say Thank you for another Manager, Who wearing dark green jacket. At least, he try to make us happy in the end. First manager who service us Wear a plaid shirt don’t do anything.
Important for booking ! Customer expect to make sure that will get table that’s why , customer choose booking instead of walk in. it’s doesn’t mean Booking isn’t garrantee that you will get table! Please keep thinking if you guys service like this ! Why on your website should have booking options!
I hope you guys will take the mistakes and improve the service, especially during the festival season. People expect to receive good enough...
Read moreThis bar/restaurant has spectacular views of the Opera House and the harbour and located on top of the Cruise Bar. The venue itself has a nice relaxed vibe and fuses different aspects of Asia in both the food and drinks.
The service was top notch and very hospitable. All items were explained to us.
We were treated to an Asian inspired feast which took our tastebuds through different countries of this continent.
We started off with Edamame With Chilli Salt and Lotus Root Chips With Spicy Yuzu Salsa. They were both delectable snacks and couldn't stop eating them. The edamame had a nice spicy kick to them. The lotus root chips reminded me of chips and salsa. It was a perfect combination.
We continued on with Pork Belly Steam Bun With Pickled Daikon, Cucumber & Carrot as well as Roasted Duck Breast Steam Bun & Shallot. Both were moreish and the buns were so delicious and fluffy. Both fillings were tasty and could've eaten a whole plate of them.
Next came the Korean Chicken Wings, Grilled Storm Clams With Shitake Mushrooms & XO Sauce, and Skewers Plate: Prawn, Beef & Malay Chicken. The chicken wings were juicy and flavoursome. Not too spicy and very crispy. This recipe was from the grandmother of one of the chefs. The clams had a good flavour to them. The skewers were lovely and each one was yummy.
Onto the larger mains to share we had the Beef Brisket With Slaw & Roti Bread. The beef was okay but the slaw was vibrant and crisp. Roti bread was a nice accompaniment to it. The sauce made the beef more moist. To finish the savoury dishes we had Hainese Chicken & Rice. It looked amazing when it came out. There were the plates of chicken, bowl of rice, a savoury tea in a teapot, and the usual accompaniments of sauces. The chicken was slightly dry by itself but once combined with the other elements it was a pretty good dish.
We definitely finished on a high note. There were choices of Raspberry Mousse or Sago Pudding With Drunken Fruit. The mousse was encased in a matcha chocolate shell. Biting into it there was the raspberry mousse with hidden surprises of chocolate covered raspberries and bits of chocolate crackle. The sago pudding was luscious and silky. The flavour was wonderful and the charred pineapple was a great addition. The presentation of both dishes was beautiful.
Overall it was an enjoyable evening with the company of other like minded foodies and a great venue to enjoy a relaxed...
Read moreHere to share a very unfortunate experience we had at Cruise Bar. We went to the venue on Thursday, to have drinks with friends and one staff member that we know. The venue manager ended up sitting with us too as he was also having drinks. At the start, we realised that he was completely intoxicated, but we didn’t give the fact much attention as we all have been there and he seemed inoffensive. Moving forward he started to put his hand on my back and I didn’t know how to react as he was the venue manager, drunk and in respect of our friend that works there. He kept going and I moved chairs. He then moved chairs to be closer and started to question me and my friends why I moved chairs and why we were looking to him in that way. We tried to change the topic and avoid a discussion, and he kept insisting. To a point that he started to scream with me and my friends. Screaming that we were making him feel like a bad person (plus other words that I don’t believe would worth writing here) and that he was the venue manager and we had to leave the venue. Other staff members realised that the situation was getting worse and tried to take him home as he was completely intoxicated. However, he kept screaming with us and we decided to leave the venue. We left all the drinks we bought behind, but we took something with us: shame. Shame for not standing up against verbal violence, for not standing up against sexism, for not standing up against abuse of power. That is why we are here: to say that event will have marks on me: to feel frightened, powerless and treated ruthlessly. We know that owners don't have control over staff members attitudes. Furthermore, we acknowledge that most of them tried to help and recognised that it was an abusive situation. However, having a venue manager with that behaviour is something to re-evaluate if it is ideal. To start he was intoxicated, second of all he was abusing his power and to finalise he was sexist and violent. We hope that this doesn't reflect on other staff members as they were all embarrassed by his boss, but we would like to hear from the business how you will act regarding this matter. I found challenging to decide to expose myself like this but I believe this will prevent other woman to go through the...
