Dosa Hut - Indian Multi Cuisine Restaurant Penrith — Restaurant in Sydney

Strongly recommend NOT TO VISIT! Everything went wrong from the moment we arrived. Waited at the entrance for few minutes as no one wanted to assist. Finally one girl came and gave us a table. Asked the server to bring the fried rice and biryani after we finish the entree and drinks. We got our 2 entrees but beers didn’t come. Asked for beer that we ordered and she bought just 1 so again reminded her and then she bought the 2nd one. Then we were still eating the entree and she brought the 1 roti that was suppose to come with the curry for the baby meal. When asked she said curry will take few more minutes. Then to our shock she brought the fried rice (main meal) and when asked she said that the chef made the whole order even when she told them not to as we requested to bring separately. She offered to take it back and make a new one to which we declined as we know they gonna probably keep it under the warm light and serve it again. Then we were eating our other meal and one of us still waiting for chole bhature that hasn’t come but it was served to other table that came & ordered after us. My wife had to eat the fried rice early and then sit there wait for rest of us to eat our meals because of their bad service and miscommunication. If you can’t deliver simple request when there were only 2 tables inside the Restaurant then good luck to the customers coming here. In the end we paid the bill and no one asked if everything was fine or anything. So eventually I asked for the manager. When explained she apologised and thanked me for the feedback. No compensation was offered. She did said this won’t happen again to which I completely agree as we won’t be coming to this...

The food is very nice and has good vegan options although the staff are not very well informed about what is vegan and what is not. We had dosa, chilli cauliflower , onion pakora which were all very good. Also the happy hours from 3-6 pm is amazing value and would make me attend with embarrassing regularity if the service was better. The seating area and decor is nice with a variety of seating options. The two areas where the food was lacking for me was the lack of information on the menu about which dishes were vegan. Also unfortunately the pani puri is served in a diy manner where you have to make the hole yourself and put the filling in. Would be much better if presented already filled with individual shot glasses on sauce. Otherwise I have really enjoyed the dishes we have had here. Sadly a big let down is the staff who seem to have no intuition, they get orders wrong, do not know much about the menu, there are delays with paying as they work out the bill, food comes out at different times and water is often not replenished. I feel this could possibly be due to micro management of staff and not encouraging them to think for themselves. We like the food and family members have been 4 times in the last month but on each occasion the experience was awkward and unsatisfying due to...

What can I say, but this branch of Dosa hut is truly an exceptional place to re-discover Indo-Chinese food in the Penrith area.

The moment you walk in, the casual ambience draws you in with the inviting open space. We were quite observant of the gentleman (presumably the owner/manager) at the door, and he was very attentive and welcoming in regards with the customers.

The highlight of the night was the food, which came in quickly. I had the Chicken Patiala and my best friend had the Palak Paneer, complemented by a side of naan and a crisp and buttery Ghee Dosa. The food was hot, well seasoned and soignè - perfect leaving none in the plate at the end of our meal. A server in a pink shirt asked how our meal was and to my reply, I was gonna deliver a very good review as promosed.

Our night was accompanied by a local musician singing in Hindi, which amplifies the good vibes even more.

My only minor criticism and area of improvement is our initial server who could’ve been more attentive and less hasty in regards to taking our orders, but overall our experience has been a positive one.
