I was having a pretty bad Monday and didn't want to cook, so I decided to take a walk down Eat Street. I wasn't planning on it, but I ended up going to John Belvedere's and as soon as stepped through the door I was welcomed in by Connor coming around the counter ready to assist.
I placed my order and rather than just sitting down and scrolling my phone waiting for my food, Connor asked me about my day and engaged in conversation which I truly, thoroughly enjoyed. Even after my food was ready and I sat down, I invited Connor to sit at my table (the restaurant was nearly closing and empty) and we continued talking.
ADDITIONALLY to the amazing hospitality, the food was spectacular. In particular the chicken on the loaded fries I ordered (and on their burgers which I've had before) is the best southern fried chicken I've ever had, period. The breading is crunchy without being tough, and the meat is tender and juicy every time. Not to mention of course their beef and seasoned fries are consistently just as sensational.
I've been up and down Eat Street over the past couple of months trying just about every reasonably priced restaurant I could find, and JB's always comes out on top with the quality of food your paying for (while still being cheaper than many of the restaurants along the strip).
Thanks JB for making my Monday not so...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious and for such a low price! Entire meal (two mains and one milkshake) came to $35! The rib burger (make sure to take the bone out!) was jaw droppingly tender. It melted in your mouth. The lightly toasted brioche bun was particularly impressive for what was a low price. The beef loaded fries were full of flavour. A hint of spice, enough to feel it but not overpowering. The chips were crispy and stayed mostly crispy even until the very end of the meal.
The service was incredibly quick. Only took about 5 minutes.
The milkshake's Oreos were a little stale, maybe not enough people have been ordering the Oreo milkshake.
The decor did feel very odd. A mixture of drawings of celebrities and MCU Superheroes. The drawings themselves ranged from odd, but interesting all the way to downright creepy and into the uncanny valley - but it made the experience all the more fun. I was not offput by the drawings but I can imagine some might be.
All round a 4.9/5 - the Oreos could have been less stale and the decor could have been a little less weird, but for such a low price and for such tasty food I really...
Read moreAfter looking at all the photos, I was quite excited to try this place and hope I didn't have too high expectation after reading all the great reviews too. But boy did it meet expectation! Had the Korean burger with truffle sauce and the ribs, they were amazing. The burger was on point, esp with the cheese sauce we added on the side to dip the burger in. Chicken in the burger was crispy and just a little spicy (quite mild for those that want more of a zing) and the bun was fluffy and soft. The meat on the beef ribs just fell off the bone. You can tell it had been slow-cooked for 12hrs, it was really juicy and tender. I usually like my ribs a little more saucier, but having said that, it was still really good. Also chose to have some buffalo wings to share which were quite decent. Service was very friendly and attentive and they take the time to answer questions and make sure that everything is great with your meal. Ambience is good, not that loud, so you can hear each other talk without having to yell. All in all, great place to come and have a meal, would...
