Yesterday was supposed to be a very special day for me and my wife, so I carefully chose this restaurant because of its unusually high Google rating (4.7 stars!). I came with high expectations, thinking we would enjoy a memorable dinner. What we actually experienced was nothing short of a disaster.

We ordered a pineapple juice, half a dozen oysters, one filet mignon, and one seafood risotto. The disaster started right away，the pineapple juice I ordered was served as apple juice. I didn’t make a fuss because it was still drinkable, but the mistake was already a red flag. Then we had to wait 40 minutes before the risotto came. The wait was painfully long, and the dish was a huge disappointment，it was watery, mushy, and tasted nothing like an authentic seafood risotto. At this point, I began to seriously doubt the kitchen’s abilities and even my own judgment for choosing this place.

The main course was even worse. My filet mignon arrived nearly one hour later. I ordered medium, but what I received was completely overcooked—dry, tough, and absolutely unpleasant to eat. I complained to the waitress, who was apologetic and offered to have the kitchen prepare a new one, along with a free drink as compensation. I told her to skip the drink and just have the steak redone. After waiting another 15 minutes, the new “filet mignon” arrived. I was stunned, it looked nothing like a proper filet. Instead of a whole piece of steak, it was sliced into thin strips with zero presentation, looking unappetizing and cheap. Also missed the prosciutto wrap.

And then came the absolute shock. On top of the steak, I found a white hair. When I brought this up to the manager, he insisted with a straight face that it was “corn silk.” At this point, I had no more energy left to argue. I just wanted to leave this restaurant as quickly as possible, so I paid the bill and walked out.

For me, this place feels like an outright scam. The waiting times are ridiculous, the food is completely mishandled, and nothing that came out of the kitchen was done right.

If you carefully read through the negative reviews, you’ll see my experience is far from unique. The management clearly doesn’t listen to feedback and makes no effort to improve the quality of their food. I honestly don’t understand how this restaurant can still maintain such a high 4.7 rating on Google.

This is one of the best seafood and pasta restaurants in and around Parramatta. It is easily accessible by transport from Parramatta train station and is walking distance along Church St. the place is among many other restaurants but if you are a fan of seafood, pasta or grilled food, then this is the place for you. The staff and service is pretty good and they are well organized even in busy peak meal times. The service is timely and quite professional. Seafood entrees are available which is really tasty, also the other tasty entree is the grilled Halloumi cheese, a bit salty but really delicious. You can’t really go wrong with anything from the menu. If you are really hungry or going on an empty stomach, why not try the seafood platter? There is a platter for one person or for a couple, it is one of the best in the area. Otherwise, you can try the lobster, cooked to perfection and mouthwatering. The prices are moderate, but if you are going all seafood, expect to pay more, but it is worth it. If you like pasta, there is a good range of pasta to choose from. If you have room for dessert, you can’t go wrong with Tiramisu, really yummy and delicious and it is my favourite European dessert. There is ample indoor seating but if you are going on a Friday or Saturday evening, it is recommended to book on the morning of your visit so you can get a good table.
