This restaurant used to have fresh charcoal chicken that was prepped fresh everyday. 90 chickens per night we would prep for the next day, sacrificing some costs and time for fresh chicken. I used to work here and it was great. People would travel from all over just for the food and service. There was a few changes of hands unfortunately and I have since stopped working but my experience as a customer has greatly declined.
Recently, I have unfortunately noticed an extremely steep decline in the quality of the food. I’ve been in multiple times where my chicken comes out room temp and undercooked. It tastes like it was microwaved. I always ask for extra basting, this seems to be an issue because the staff almost always leave this out and when they don’t they just take it back to the kitchen and pour cold basting all over the chicken making it soggy and cold.
With the gradual increase in prices Nando’s has seen over the last few years it’s a slap in the face when you spend $25-30 expecting a freshly cooked meal and you get far from it. I keep coming back hoping it’ll be better because I know how good it used to be, AND I know how we used to cook everything, how clean and fresh we made sure to be. Disappointing is an understatement, the front of house seemed completely disinterested in making anything right and seemed to think it was funny that I...
Read moreDear Management: Firstly, We went to Nandos (Camperdown branch) 12:15 PM for lunch on 29th of November, 2018 and lunch was served at 12: 55 PM. Our Office lunch break was 1 hour. We were so upset that we told the shop's staff give our food on a quick basis. and he looks like an Indian guy. we were so upset asking what make you late to provide the food delay. They apologized for that. then We keep quite when they apologize. But today, we are 6 people again went there for lunch and then we sit and choose the food. Then I went to the desk to order the food. The same indian guy came out and start shout with me, he did misbehave, disrespect and humiliating in front of all the customers and my office colleagues, the reason was why I pushed them last week to give food early and why I did complain against them. After that, we were so humiliated by them finally we had to come out from the Nandos.
So, I will request to upper management to take action about worst behave to customer specific that that Indian guy. I have already contact with ACCC and they said let the Nandos's management first deal with that and if they fail to do so then they will go for further action. Can you please confirm me you do the right action for that restaurant staff's specific...
Read moreThis Nando's operates cashless, even outside of lockdown. (First business I've personally seen do that).
While I recognize the advantages a cashless system can offer businesses, I believe it's vital for consumers to understand the broader societal implications of moving away from cash. Even though it's not the intention of individual businesses, a broader shift to a cashless society might help pave the way, or accelerate, power imbalance between individuals and organisations who collect and share data for extra profit and increase surveillance, reducing our privacy rights. In a world where democracy is arguably taking a bit of a backslide, (though not alarmingly so), it's essential for all of us to weigh the convenience against potential threats to our civil liberties. The phenomenon known as 'surveillance capitalism' can be detrimental to a free democracy, leading to a 'chilling effect' where individuals may refrain from certain actions such as eating 'where, when and what' in a non-conforming manner, all the way to expressing dissenting opinions due to fear of surveillance.
... Food was OK though, although a bit small and over-priced, with a few hard bits...
