Chicken bagel was a great balance of flavours and textures, and perfectly toasted. Cold brew was excellent and a very generous serve. Obviously one goes to a cafe for food - and theirs was superb. But the ordering system gave me pause. The QR code for menu and payment worked well, but what I cannot for the life of me accept is why the required information included my full name, email address and phone number. These are not necessary pieces of information for anyone to have in a transaction for me to eat breakfast. This sort of unnecessary data collection may seem harmless but you have to wonder - what is done with this data? Who collects it? Why? How do they use it? Why do we accept this slow creep of information collection as part of daily life? A philosophical point for something as simple as a cafe review perhaps. Thankfully, a fake name, email and phone number was enough to get through this unnecessary barrier in the...

Excellent design and good coffee, only far too cramped (detracting from the ambience) and a bit of a North Korea situation going on with their food. What's described as a 'crispy pork belly baguette with two sunny-side up eggs, tomato relish and house-made pickles' is in fact a bacon and egg roll with ketchup and onions. Head down the road to Walrus café for a tastier and more accurately described breakfast.

Edit: I take back everything I’ve said above. I’ve since revisited at least 300,000 more times and ordered properly (coffee and bagels are the way to go here). Country style service, raucous drawl and all. 300,000 gold stars and a lollypop. After posting this review, I am going to head to the wilderness to reevaluate my life and take a really hard look at the foolish...

Despite being tucked at a corner of George Street, the chic decor of this cafe immediately stands out - and boy does it live up to the curiosity that might lure your feet to its door. The coffee is superb, with a slightly lighter roast that makes it smoother than your average Sydney blend and just the right amount of milk in the flat whites to make sure it doesn't overpower the coffee's flavour. The food that you would find here is worth a shot as well, particularly the pulled pork sourdough and the lobster roll (more of an oversized lobster canapé to be honest). Expect a 10 mins wait for your food and coffee during the morning and lunch hours though as this gem has clearly been discovered by many of the caffeine hungry...

As spectacular cafes go, it's hard to go past Regiment CBD. A beautiful fit-out with sweeping lines, Byron Blackbutt, and gold accents. Bespoke Synesso machines dominate the counter pointing to a great coffee experience. Filter coffees and milk based coffees are on point. On the food front for the health minded, there's a pear-ginger muesli with yoghurt, forest fruit, and almond milk. For a little treat, you can't go past the crispy smoked pork belly, eggs sunny side up, pickled onion, smokey tomato relish and milk bun. There's an array of pastries and cookies to choose from as well including lip smacking good Butterbing Cookie Sandwiches. One of the best cafes in Sydney CBD.

Their salad bowls are the best in town! Ingredients are oh-so-fresh feels like they’ve got a garden at the back and got them just off the ripe as you order. Aamazing how they do returner bowls so you can minimise your enviro impact whilst staying lazy! :p Perfect combinations in a bowl too, well balanced seasoning and all! Don’t forget the once-a-while go-to guilty brekkie toast: Macadamia butter toast <- you MUST have this once in your life time! No jokes! Best nut toast in my 20 years of life, only served until 11:30am! Friendly staff, the shop is buzzy all day long.
