Samir's Indian Kitchen — Restaurant in Sydney

After being ripped off by so many other restaurants of late, I was pleasantly surprised at the decent quality of the food. Although it was more expensive than most, near $16 for Dal, the flavours were all authentic and blessings, the chicken wasn't overcooked. The Peshwari Rice had the most delicate of flavours and was enhanced with a small hint of coconut. The Rice was delightful and very moist as was the Chicken Korma. I would order a dish that had a little more depth of heat next time but considering it was my first order with Samir's, I was playing it safe. The Dal was one of the nicest I have tasted thus far, just the right amount of spices and depth of chilli, even better than mine!!!!!. It would be nice if there were more entree dishes to chose from though. In all, I would definitely re-order from Samir's again but I would very much like the meal to be a lot warmer than it was as having to re-heat a take-away is not what you really want...

We ordered take away from Samir’s after reading all the good reviews and weren’t disappointed. The staff member (I didn’t get her name) who served us was very friendly and efficient.

We ordered a large variety of items including samosas, garlic/plain naan, lamb biryani, butter chicken, chicken tikka, palak paneer, and aloo matar paneer. Of those, the lamb biryani, butter chicken, and garlic naan were definitely the highlights, although everything tasted great.

The food came well packaged and was reasonably priced. The portions were surprisingly large and actually lasted a couple of meals. The restaurant itself seemed clean and spacious. Also, the fact that the food was halal (as noted on their website) was a plus!

Just a couple of minor recs—some of the dishes could have used a little less oil, and it would have been nice to have a variety of samosa options.

Overall, great restaurant and...

There are heaps of older, long established Indian places within a 5km radius of Samir's Indian Kitchen however Samir's is definitely the best!! I was so impressed by the 5 star reviews I thought we must try. And I was not disappointed. We ordered online on their website, called to confirm the order and it was ready for pick up exactly 20 mins later as promised. The young lady working there was SO hospitable and genuine. Great customer service. The chicken tikka was so juicy and generous portion for an entree. The naan was perfect, the butter chicken was so well spiced and not just creamy like others, and the lamb biryani was the perfect level of chili and good amount of actual lamb chunks in it. Can't wait to eat there again....
