In short, food was ok but bad staff ruined the experience.
My family and I were there for a wedding last night. Food was ok (more on that later), but service was appalling.
Staff were rude and inconsiderate. Waitress was lazy and got us to pass the dishes along as opposed to putting the dish in front of each person, She also hit the toddler's head a couple of times whilst serving and pretended that nothing happen.
She also kept pestering us about our glasses then took them away and refused to bring us replacements when we asked for them. Only got 1 cup for 12 people when I asked her "how am i supposed to drink anything if I don't have a cup?"
I got into an argument with her towards the end of the night when I was about to have a slice of the wedding cake and she abruptly took the place off our table and then yelled "only 1 per table" which is understandable but she 2 plates on our table 10 minutes earlier.
At the end of it all, the servers started clearing off the tables - even when people were still eating their last mains. They didn't ask or anything, they just took away plates, bowls, cups, everything.
Portion sizes were small - food usually comes on a platter and is served at the table. Last night, however, the food was taken past our table to a preparation area and portioned into bowls before being brought out to us or in our case, we passed along the table.
When we left for the night, the servers also left, carrying takeaway containers filled with lobster meat. The lobster and crab that were served the guests were all legs and shells. The servers had kept all the lobster meat and crab for themselves and took home the leftovers.
I think at least management owes the hosting family and their guests an apology for the extremely poor experience their guests...
Read moreWe were so excited when we walked into yum cha. The staff all wearing masks, so I felt safe as I have autoimmune. The food was good until we were served the beef rolls that were completely cold. I told the waitress and she said they were the last ones (they had been sitting there for a while). I then said we would not be able to eat them and could we change for something else. She called the manager. He was the rudest person ever. He took off his mask. I asked if he would mind putting it back on as I was at high risk. He then pulled it up and pulled it back down and said, ‘I don’t have to, it’s not the law’. So I politely asked him if he could step back a little as I was high risk. After all, I only entered this restaurant as the staff were wearing masks. But this Asian arrogant mgr wanted to show his power. He stood there, shouted to me how dare I ask him and told me I was rude for asking. I saw him pull up his mask for all other patrons. So I had to put my mask on and my family and I left. It’s a shame as it was an important day. I would never step a foot into that restaurant. Reading some of the prior reviews there are continual complaints about the mgr and attitude. Don’t go there with your family, it’s obvious the staff are afraid of him, judging by their body language towards him and he definitely has a problem with women. That’s one...
Read more09.2025 As always good place for relax dim sum lunch on weekend. I felt they might have changed the recipes or the cook was different person now. Something was changed and new for me. Shrimps were so nice, some menus were unfamiliar with me.
I was sorry I couldn’t find chicken feet ‘豉汁蒸鳳爪’ this time. Hope it comes back on the menu please.
09.2024 Stable good food and service. But they don’t accept a reservation for less than 5 persons now… that is inconvenient.
12.2023 I renewed my experience. Visited there at 11:30 on Sunday in December. Restaurant was almost full and I could barely find a table. Food Trollies came often. Most of the foods were fresh cooked and steamed. Because people picked up them soon and the restaurant filled them everytime. That was good point to go there in holiday season.
2022visit Good place to enjoy casual dim sum for weekend lunch. Cost for 50 per person. Went there at 11:30 on Saturday. Four or five trolleies came with different foods and moved around in proper paces. Servers speak Chinese and I had to guess what they say, that was interesting experience. I wish if I could speak Chinese. But after 12:00, many trolleies only with same kinds of streamed dim sum. Had to wait for 15 minutes to find what we wanted. But a so kind staff offered us to bring what we liked. I loved her professional skill...
