Disappointing Christmas Eve Dining Experience!!!!!!! I have been living in Sydney for two years, and this is my first time writing a review for a restaurant. Tonight, I walked into this restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, the terrible experience ruined my Christmas Eve. Here are the three main reasons why I do not recommend this restaurant: Poor food quality: The seafood, such as prawns, was not fresh and fell far below the standard of similar restaurants. If you're looking to enjoy seafood, I recommend choosing another place. Other dishes, like the steak and fries, were merely average. However, since this restaurant is known for its view, we didn’t have particularly high expectations for the food to begin with. Reservation issues: On November 8th, I reserved a window table and paid $25 per person for it—nearly two months in advance—demonstrating how much I valued this dining experience. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, a waitress led us to a table with an obstructed view, making it difficult to fully enjoy the scenery. I noticed several empty window tables on the other side with a much better and unobstructed view, so I asked if we could sit there. The waitress informed me that those tables were already reserved. I don’t understand this—after all, I also paid to reserve a window table at the same price, so why wasn’t I allowed to sit there? If all the other window tables were occupied, I would have gladly accepted being seated at this spot. But those tables were empty, and considering I had paid for the same type of reservation, why couldn’t I suggest sitting there? Were those tables specifically reserved for certain people? What made the situation even more perplexing was that during the meal, we noticed that the tables with the better view were predominantly occupied by white customers, while Asian customers were seated on our side. I don’t believe this was a coincidence.
Unprofessional service: It was extremely difficult to get the attention of the waitstaff when we needed service. Even when making eye contact or waving, they would completely ignore us. When they passed by, and I said “hi” or “excuse me,” they acted as though they didn’t hear anything. One particular waitress stood out for her poor attitude—she was often near me, yet I had to call out loudly multiple times before she would respond, and even then, her response was cold and indifferent. Aside from one friendly male server (who seemed to be Korean), the rest of the staff showed no smiles, were cold in their demeanor, and seemed impatient.
Summary: If you’re looking for good food, there are plenty of better options in Sydney. If you expect professional service, you may find yourself affected by racial bias. For these reasons, I strongly recommend against visiting this restaurant. The above reflects my personal experience—it may not be the same for everyone, but I’m simply sharing my honest thoughts with you all. Finally, I wish everyone a...
Read moreGreat view, but a shame about the poor service!!
We dined in today with family to celebrate Father’s Day. We all ordered off different phones so completely understood the orders would all come at different times however, after over 40 minutes after everyone else at the table had received and completely finished their meals, mine and my husbands meal had still not arrived. We approached staff who seemed very flustered and all over the place and no one knew where our meals were. We were told it wouldn’t be long and soon there after my husbands burger came (my barramundi was still no where to be seen) but the burger looked like it had been slapped together and thrown on the plate with a little to no lettuce and was missing one of the key ingredients, pickles! My husband asked the waiter to please bring over the pickles separately, but instead, he took the whole plate and said he’d fix it and wouldn’t be long. Another almost 30 minutes passed, still no barramundi and the burger never returned. After approaching multiple times to your food service area asking staff, we were still left waiting.. our entire party were ready to leave as it was after 2.30pm and we’d been there since 12.30pm. Finally, a lovely staff member (who I then asked for her name to be sure to give her praise) named Abby was extremely kind and attentive offering to fix the problem immediately and apologized saying it was definitely unacceptable. She arranged a drink for us while we waited and made sure to go straight to the kitchen and got our food sorted quickly.
My mum’s chicken burger and chips were also served barely even warm. During our visit, we witnessed multiple other tables around us complaining and asking staff about missing or incorrect food and even saw a few other plates being retuned to the kitchen.
A shame that such a reputable venue at a prime location on a clearly popular venue choice for Father’s Day has such lack of staff management and incompetence. If it wasn’t for Abby, we would have left without any food (my husbands first Father’s Day with our newborn son). Thanks Abby!
I do hope that you rethink your staff managing food service next time you have a busy event as this is such an integral part of hospitality and insuring a smooth lunch service for...

I had been communicating with their events team for over two weeks, trying to book part of the restaurant for my son’s first birthday party. Throughout the entire process, their responses were unprofessional, inefficient, and completely irresponsible.
After several emails and confirmations with the staff member in charge, I was told that the Upper Deck was available on 9 November. We clearly expressed our intention to book the space and were ready to pay the deposit. Although the staff member mentioned that the space might be “too big” for us, we confirmed that we were willing to meet the minimum spend requirement, and we also explained that we needed a larger space for decorations and to accommodate our child guests.
However, after confirming the decoration restrictions, the staff member stopped replying to all my emails. I followed up twice within the next four days with no response. When I finally sent another email on Monday, I was suddenly told that the space was no longer available for us because “our group was too small” — which makes no sense if there is a minimum spend policy in place.
As a result, we had to contact all our guests individually to inform them about the changes to the venue and time, and we also had to rebook all of our decorations again.
If the venue was not available for our type of event, why did they confirm its availability in the first place, and why did they discuss decoration details with us?
After reading other Google reviews, it seems that this is not an isolated incident — the venue’s event team has a reputation for poor communication and inconsistency.
Thankfully, we decided not to go ahead with this venue. If you want a smooth and reliable experience for your special occasion, I would highly recommend...
